Community Run Game Night

Come join the likes of people that you don't know nor give a crap about, until now of course because strangers make for the best fun, in some explosive and painstakingly hilarious Halo: Reach custom games! If I really want to stream this on my own channel then I'll go out and steal my friend's game capture card, because I'm that good of a friend. In order to join, post your gamertag in this thread and send a message to "Starwiz221" on Xbox Live between 11 A.M. and 2 P.M. CST (work scheduled me at 3) on Friday, April 13th, no ladders or mirrors will be present. Don't worry if you don't get in right away, we will be playing for 3 hours. P.S. Please be patient as I work on getting through all of the messages as I receive a ton, hopefully. I also ask you send only one message, otherwise my inbox gets flooded, and I'm sure somewhere Gus will have to fix something, and surprisingly enough, we love Gustavo. P.P.S. If you really want to or if you enjoy the game night then join our group and you'll be in on any shenanigans we may be up to. P.P.P.P.P.S I love you Caleb Post edited 4/11/12 9:13PM

DLC Tiles

Hello everyone, Joe here. Anyway this thread is to talk about the DLC achievement tiles for Halo Reach. I know in Bungie's recent weekly update they released the DLC achievements that will be coming with the Noble map pack along with the tiles, and as we see submissions starting to poor in we ask that you do not submit any achievement tiles from Bungie.net into the Achievement Hunter database. Please wait until they appear on Xbox.com. (Where we prefer all tiles come from) Tiles from any other site will be deleted. "The resolution for the images are way too high and are coming out pixelated." - Tudor Thank you for your cooperation in making this site great!

The visor

Well by now most people have realized that all the character armor in the campaign will eventually be unlocked in multiplayer... which brings up the question, what about Jorge's visor. This mystical orangish red visor has not been found as a possible piece of armor for your character that is currently on the disk. So does this mean that bungie will realease an update containing more armor or even more likely, including new armor with dlc's. Personaly I believe the lack of this visor is proof that bungie will release more armor in the future but to what end is hard to say. If anyone has any ccomments or ideas to add to this please give me your opinion.

Halo: Reach Achievement Guide

Overview: -Estimated achievement difficulty: 8/10 -Offline: 38 (915G) -Online: 11 (85G) -Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1-2 -Number of missable achievements: None can use mission select to redo missions for achievements -Do cheat codes disable achievements?: N/A -Does difficulty affect achievements?: Yes Minimum difficulty must be Normal some require at least Heroic or Legendary -Glitchy achievements: none Campaign (915) All these achievements can be done through just playing the game in campaign mode. Some of the side achievements can only be gotten on certain levels or are really easy to get on others. A Monument to All Your Sins 150 Completed every mission in Halo: Reach alone, on Legendary. There is plenty of advice on how to beat the game on legendary on solo HERE some advice though. This will probably take you in the range of 8hrs-20hrs+ depending on your gaming skill. Using the plasma pistol and either the DMR or Pistol is a MUST. Headshot everything possible and use the plasma pistol to take elites shields off and the one shot their heads with pistol/DMR. Bungie did a great job of creating weapon stashes in spots where you will need them. So if you get to a hard part where you seem like you could use more fire power simply look around. Exploring areas I normally wouldn't go (even using a jetpack) earned me quite a few unknown rockets/snipers that made tricky parts a LOT easier. Take your time... don't rush the more you die the more you reset and get frustrated. Lastly, there are plenty of spots you can simply sprint past and just reach the checkpoint so look those up. Plus, spartans can't die like the marines so let them kill some enemies for you. Gods Must Be Strong 125 Completed the Campaign on Legendary difficulty. Same as A Monument to All Your Sins, but you can do this co-op to make it easier if you don't feel like playing solo to get it. Folks Need Heroes... 50 Completed the Campaign on Heroic difficulty. Same as the last just easier to do. The Soldier We Needed You To Be 25 Completed the Campaign on Normal difficulty. Same as the last again just even easier to do. We're Just Getting Started 10 Completed the 2nd mission on Normal or harder. Pretty simple finish the level on normal or harder to get this achievement. Co-op is allowed to do this. Note: this level blends in with the first level so it may seem a little long. Plus, there first level doesn't have an achievement to unlock for completing it so don't worry. Protocol Dictates Action 10 Completed the 3rd mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started I Need a Weapon 10 Completed the 4th mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started To War 10 Completed the 5th mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started You Flew Pretty Good 10 Completed the 6th mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started Into the Howling Dark 10 Completed the 7th mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started Dust and Echoes 10 Completed the 8th mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started This is Not Your Grave... 10 Completed the 9th mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started Send Me Out... with a Bang 10 Completed the 10th mission on Normal or harder. Refer to We're Just Getting Started

Annoying moments from the Halo universe

All and all I would have to say that Halo: Reach is one of the greatest games to have ever been created, but sometimes there are some really annoying moments that really want to make me destroy a small animal (probably won't). My first complaint is about some of the people playing in multiplayer, not being owned but when someone goes out of their way to harass you.... (insert video) www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZASOSuB9eI

Achievement Hunter Reviews: Halo Reach

"Seriously! This is the game I've been saying they needed to make ever since I read the first novel!" This quote from my older brother perfectly encompasses what Halo: Reach is all about. This is the game that we have been begging for ever since we first learned that there were more Master Chiefs, since we first learned of the planet where the Spartan IIs were raised, and since we first glimpsed the majesty that is the Halo universe. It is Bungie's full circle conclusion to 10 years of Halo, and the swan song that brings together everything that made the series great. This is as they say, the beginning of the end. Halo: Reach This has been literally the hardest review for me to write yet, not only because of how near and dear Halo is to my heart, but also because of the sheer amount of stuff there is to talk about. Of course everything looks beautiful and the soundtrack is top notch as usual. But there is just so much more beyond this that it becomes nearly impossible to talk about everything. To say that Bungie has put a lot of work into this game would be a huge understatement as Halo: Reach literally is the culmination of every single previous Halo game to date. It takes everything that made every entry in the series awesome, and puts it all together. As you play through the game an then invest into multiplayer, you'll notice things here and there that remind you of each previous game. The first level clearly borrows from the first outdoor mission in Halo: CE, exploring a vast mountainous landscape while searching for missing marines. Or maybe you're helping defend the city from invading Covenant forces like in Halo 2. You can tell that the designers at Bungie really took their time, looked back at everything and said "What made these things awesome?" What could be more awesome then a Spartan super soldier? Six Spartan super soldiers. At the same time, they paid close attention to what people didn't like. I can thankfully say that there is not a single mission in the entire campaign that was un-fun or will be dreaded by the masses for years to come (NO FLOOD MISSIONS!!! YAY!). There are no "useless" pickups (Trip mines? Flair?). There are no "worthless" vehicles (Specter anyone?). Absolutely everything in Reach is fun, useful and awesome. But none of it is any good without a story to use them in. Fortunately, Reach delivers that as well. Set during the weeks leading up to the beginning of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, Reach follows the members of Nobel Team; a group of Spartans stationed on the planet. It begins with the investigation of a now quiet relay station, and the search and rescue for marines that have gone missing with it. Fearing the work of local insurrectionists, Nobel Team is sent to investigate the situation. Things soon take a turn for the worst as the marines are found dead and all outside communication is lost. As Nobel soon discovers, the Covenant are on Reach. The rest of the story plays out as the Team fights for survival against ceaseless waves of invading forces, and as the planet falls Nobel is asked to give their all for a goal that just might save humanity. Though this plot might feel depressing at first, it is the intriguing tale of Nobel team that really gives it weight. These are not the unquestioning mutes of Halos past. They actively discus weather the right decisions are being made, and wonder if their goals are really worth fighting for. I have to give Bungie praise for creating such a deep and emotionally complicated story for Halo Reach, and you can see how it was influenced by ODST in this regard. That being said, I still felt like there was more that could have been told. I would have liked to see just a little bit more screen time with Nobel Team themselves and learned a bit more of their back stories. It feels kind of assumed that you know who these people are and where they come from, but for the new Halo players (if there are any) this doesn't make much sense. I still wait in the hopes of some story based DLC though, as there are several plot points that seemed almost intentionally left empty. You should simply know though that the story of Halo Reach is well worth your time and ties things together quite well in the end, giving both a sense of accomplishment and sorrow at the same time. Glowing red lasers are generally a bad thing, unless you've got one too. While there might be a few voices raging about the so called canonical inconsistencies of Halo Reach, the story and setting actually offer a unique an genius way of introducing new features into a prequel. Reach, they explain, is the military's primary stronghold, their greatest fortress, and the primary testing ground for all kinds of new stuff. Hence, the existence of new toys in a time when there wasn't supposed to be anything like that. For example: The DMR. Standing for Designated Marksman Rifle, the DMR is the supposed precursor to Halo 2's Battle Rifle. It will stand as the weapon you rely on, and the "go-to" gun for almost any encounter. This carries over to the new vehicles in Reach as well. You'll use a number of civilian trucks and other rides to get around the terrain, and you can see these as being sort of stripped down pre-warthogs. This use of Reach's setting works wonderfully to introduce options that we might not have had before. This even includes the new additions. Continued in comments...

Another Easter Egg

On the campaign level, the Exodus, one of the marines' names is M. Hullum. (a tribute to the community?) I am unsure if there is more but I will keep an eye out for them in the future

Wish List

So what kind of things are you wanting from Reach? Put it down here, it doesn't matter how small it is. Here's mine: Bring back the Needler's Halo 1 melee. Jabbing needles in their face FTW!! Decrease the Needler's power and make them dual-wieldable again. Make a fast UNSC vehicle that one player can drive and shoot with (tank is slow, Hornet isn't fast...enough). Tell the story from multiple perspectives (ala Halo 2 and ODST). Have the Arbiter make an appearance. Have at least one level where you play as the Master Chief. Have the Sniper Rifle's scope show a clear image when not zoomed in, not that green crap in Halo 3. Have the main enemies be a mix of Elites and Brutes. Imagine taking on a Brute Chieftan and an Elite Zealot at the same time! Keep ODST's pistol. Take the silencer off of the SMG. It doesn't have the same kick in ODST as it does in Halo 3. Let us play as the Spartans in "The Fall of Reach." I'd love to play as Linda, Fred, or Kelly. Let us play in some vehicles from Halo Wars. Grizzly or Wolverine anyone? Got something you'd like to add to that, or think I'm an idiot who should never make a game? Speak!
