I highly recommend the Acadamy museum of motion pictures!

My wife and I went there after seeing the la brea tar pits (which was also great) and it was really cool! I know a bunch of you guys are film buffs and you should definitely check it out if you're in LA.

Big bang in Pyongyang

I’m just now watching this movie. It’s about denis Rodman when he went to Korea. Anyone got any wacky movie suggestions to check out in that vein?

Does Roosterteeth higher practical construction.

Hi, this is my first post and last when it probably gets deleted. However, I don't know where else this belongs and hopefully here I get a response and kicked out in the right direction. So who am I; I am a first-class graduate of a school in England specialising in set construction (, as well as props, technical drawing, costume really the whole spectrum). I also have working with company as their trainees set technician, however as I'm now not in full-time education I'd like to find a job. My ideal job would be working because as most people on this forum would agree there pretty cool with the movies pod casts they may. I don't expect that I'm going to get a job straight up. But even if it's unpaid I would like to still work with Rooster teeth for some time, even if it's just a week next year.I have looked at the jobs and there is no listed job set builders or practical jobs in that way, but if there's a way to contact and ask if I can even get some work experience with them, then I really like that. So my question which I would kind like an answer to is would Roosterteeth hire me or how would I go about being told no? PS. I posted this here because we only group I found that actually mentions set, thank you for remembering part of filming.

Sedisverse- Reflections

Reflections - animation Hi All! I have just released my first ever attempt at animation to the world. This is an audio drama project which I have been involved in for the last 2 years, and I finally decided to try my hand at animation. If you're interested in taking a look, please click on the link above! The Sedisverse is a semi dystopian future set thirty years from now. In this brave new world, a powerful mineral has unlocked the potential of the human genome – creating a new age of strange creatures, aspiring heroes and brutal villains. But unlike the heroes and villains of other worlds – these men and women are not always engaged in a fight for lofty ideals or drives for power. These are people just trying to survive and make a life for themselves. They are cynical, bitter, world weary and make mistakes. Hope you enjoy! Sim

Why is Ghostbusters 2 bad?

I just finished watching back-to-back Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 I remember that people were really reckon on Ghostbusters 2 when the remake movie came out and I didn't understand why. Now that I've actually watched it I have some context with what im talking about. I haven't done anything super problematic just a bunch of little issues. -The judge not believing in ghosts/ giving them a hard time (when everyone saw the shit that happened in the first movie and how they saved everyone) -The mayor giving them a hard time when the ghostbusters telling them there's a problem/ then asking for their help after they're right ( when they were Klearly right the first time or this is a different mayor and the guy from the last movie lost the election) - the villain needing to possess a baby to live ( when you can clearly possess human beings and walk out of the painting with no problems with his powers) THINGS I THINK GOT MAD ABOUT: Statue of Liberty being able to walk Slimer driving a bus Good goo beat Evil goo -

Oats Studio video released on Steam

So Oats Studio, Neill Blomkamp's experiment, just released its Volume 1 short film on Steam called Rakka. It is free for anyone interested in viewing it or like the directors other projects. Just trying to see if others are interested in this idea he, Neill, has for what seems like a series of short films that might not all be related.

Star Wars - The Last Jedi

Surprised that there isn't a forum for this yet. I'm kinda divided on this film. I liked The Force Awakens, but I felt it was mostly a recycled plot that relied too heavily on fan service & nostalgia. On top of that, I'm just not a fan of Rey. I just think she's a very boring character with little or no flaws. She's nowhere near as compelling as other female leads such as Sarah Connor, Ellen Ripley, or Jyn Urso from Rogue One. But enough about what I don't like. I am thrilled to finally have Luke Skywalker back again, and I hope that somehow, Han Solo will still be connected to the film too. I also look forward to seeing to development of Kylo Ren's character, who we will hopefully learn more about. And seeing more of best bros Poe & Finn will be a nice change of pace. What are your thoughts?

Logan

When you see Logan, add to the discussion. ***beware of spoilers*** I saw Logan last night and really loved the film. It's a moving redemption story and has a ton of heart. Support gritty as well. It's a "proper" Logan film. I loved the actors as well. Going to see it again so I can pick up anything I missed.  What did you think?

Moana and La La Land

I've seen both of them. Loved loved loved La La Land and while I liked Moana, I felt there was a lack of emotional grip.

Burnie Burns in Purge: Anarchy?

I was recently watching this CinemaSins video on "Purge: Anarchy" when at 1:07, I heard a voice sounding like Mr.Burns say on the radio: "...were voted into office." Can anyone confirm or discredit his small part in the film?

Every Movie Idea I've ever had

Simple, lets get to it. If you want elaboration ask with a please and a thank you. 1. A detective slays a serial killer who has caused the city great pains, and the detective is seen as a hero, until the detective starts seeing the serial killer wherever he goes. Is he going crazy? Being haunted? Or is he becoming him? 2. A 6-foot 6 mercenary, a married sniper duo, and a ex-ceo father hell bent on revenge, all attempt to assassinate an american politician with a James Bond like body guard in a near future Japan. 3.A teen runs away from home to get away from his abusive father ,and begins hitchhiking. When he gets picked up by a nice, kind, older gentleman (Bryan Cranston) and he’s finally happy. They go around the country and visit famous locations and connect with each other sharing their sad pasts. Cranston's sad past? He was a child molester. The teen must choose between an old man with a disturbing past and dark secret, or abandon the only person he’s got. 4. A mystery murder thriller set in a top level submarine. We follow a navy corpsman (nurse) and a military police officer discover a man with his face ripped off, and now they are the only ones that can find the killer before it's too late. (Probably one of my favorite scenes in the movie is when there is a divide among the boat about whether everyone should get a gun or not, and in the heat of the moment a shot is fired and for a solid 30 seconds we watch this boat of top secret military men hit the deck as a bullet ricochets all inside the boat.) 5. Two convicts chained to each other, a cocky FBI agent, 4 polices officers, a loose K9 dog, and a serial killer are all trapped with each other in the biggest maze in West Texas in 1987. 6. Four amateur bank robbers accidentally upset the local mob when they steal dirty money. Now the gang have to out smart the cops, a silent hit-man, and the mob in order to just get out alive. 7. A special mercenary group (Entitled “Notorious”) - Consisting of a smoke man who can be inhaled by others and then takes full control of their body, a Japanese school girl, an insane man cursed with being the luckiest man alive who just plays different instruments, and a 1980’s failed “Reagan Robot” whose only goal is to convince democracy into everyone he meets and is controlled by a Russian hacker - Are dropped off at the top of a building full of mobsters who have countless hostages, while a special police task force - lead by a just and morally righteous leader - are at the bottom fighting there way up to save said hostages. The police are ordered to shoot anyone in the building on sight, but save the hostages, while the mercenary group are ordered to kill certain hostages. 8. a mockumentary about 2 twins who became rock star legends as they experiment with different styles and adapt to there new godly status as rock legends. 9. In a distant “1984” type of dystopia where a massive war has been happening, a normal ex-army doctor gets caught up in a hostage situation, where resistance fighters have captured the leader of the government and other high ranking officials, but the lines blur between good and bad, and what you would do to live. The whole movie takes place in a bar/pup. 10. A highschooler gets into a car accident with a construction worker, the teen is now bound to a wheelchair and must cope with living in a wheelchair, while dealing with his changing school life, a controlling step-mother, and how others see him. It also shows the construction workers new life, as he is devastated from the accident he’s caused and is seen by the public as "A Monster." 11. A sci-fi space opera about a man who becomes a bounty hunter after he’s been woken up out of cryo-sleep by a ‘Kurt Russel’ type, a sassy hologram, and a large cyborg woman, where he’s confused for the leader of a villainous space gang. 12. A comedy about a man who gets temporary blindness and must adjust to his new life. 13. A mockumentary about a 12 time Oscar winning actor who's also the most challenging man to work with, and we watch his co-stars try to deal with him. 14. An American P.O.W. and German solder (Set in WWIII) have to travel through the frozen nuclear wasteland that is Russia. 15.A pair of criminals kidnap the daughter of a rich business man. While the nappers wait for the money and bond with the daughter, the family comes together to discuss the matter, but constantly disagree about what to do. Some say pay, some say don't, he says call the police, but she says no one should no. Tensions rise among the family until the movie reaches a violent conclusion. 16. A musician who lives during the 1900's stumbles upon a portal that leads him to the present day, where he steals songs and rewrites them as originals. 17. Three friends, while passing through New Mexico, get harassed and a cult and are forced to take drugs and become killing machines. 18. The parallel story of a writer and his character who have to over come obstacles, the writer dealing with his book turning into a movie that he hates, and the character going though countless rewrites of a script until they are no longer the same character. 19. An Elvis impersonator watches corrupt policemen kill a man and is now involved in a plot to kill the mayor of Las Vegas. 20. 3 princes follow their destinies in this medieval sci-fi tale where murder and betraly are second nature to them. This is a musical. Tell me any movie idea's you guys have! I would love to hear 'em!

Movie Cars

So I maybe redoing an old forum but, i don't know. Anyway. today I turned on the TV and Back to the Future 1-3 were on. One of the best movies out there. And I said to someone that the DeLorean is one of the most recognizable movie cars out there to date. They then proceeded to think that the Mystery Machine in Scooby Doo is higher on that list. (They are a Scooby Doo fan). I know that the DeLorean isn't at the top of that list but, still feel that it is higher than the Mystery Machine. Regardless. That got me thinking. What are some of the most noticeable movie and TV car's. Cars like, KITT from Knight Rider, the Batmobile from the TV series, car's or the classic Bond car. What are some of your favorite movie cars to date and some of the most recognizable.

**Spoilers**My theory on Starlord's father in the MCU**Spoilers**

TLDR: Starlords father in the MCU is Adam Warlock. As I'm sure (almost) everyone in this forum knows, in the MCU Starlords father in the MCU is something old and powerful, which is why he was able to wield an infinity stone without the use of a device. Since Adam Warlock is able to wield an Infinity Stone (the Soul Gem) without any outside aid, it is not unreasonable to think any of his offspring might inherit somthing of that trait. Furthermore, according to The Know, the main antagonist in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is Her, who is connected to Adam Warlock. Also, as stated on The Know, it would make a lot of sense for Adam Warlock to make an appearance before the Infinity Wars movies. Here is my scenario: 1. Adam Warlock fathers Starlord and leaves him and his mother to spare them Her wrath (because if She can't have Adam no one can), or he simply was unaware of his existence until later and thought is was to late to go back. 2. She (Her) finds out about Starlord and goes to Earth (there is info out there that indicates Guardians 2 takes place at least partly on Earth) to kill his family or simply find clues as to the whereabouts of Adam Warlock and terrorizes Starlords family while doing so. 3a. Starlord goes to Earth to stop Her and runs in to Adam Warlock. 3b. Adam Warlock tells Starlord what is going on on Earth and goes there with him. 4. Starlord finds out Adam is his father. I know this doesn't follow comic book lore but Marvel has departed from some lore specifics before.
