It actually surprise (and annoys) me that the notifications still give you updates about people mentioning you in comments and replying to your comments on videos. How has no-one internally in this group realized this feather is completely useless when clicking on it these notifications doesn't actually show you the comment? It just takes you to the content where you comment/reply/mention is on, and then it's good luck to you the user to scroll down and find it. On hot new content this is completely unrealistic. Either make the browser scroll you down to the related comment/reply/mention, or make a section atop the comment section meant to make a duplicate view of the related comment/reply/mention when navigating to the page through such a notification.
I became a First member about a month ago, and while I love the First only content there are a few bugs that will likely keep me from renewing that would make a big difference if improved. - Even when logged into my First account, if I save a video to My Watchlist on one platform (example, iPhone 8) it doesn't show up in My Watchlist when I'm on another platform (XBox One app or Mac). - On the Xbox One app, the dates videos are released are not shown beneath them, and the videos often appear in a random order and not "most recent" format. This makes it hard to find the newest content even when I go to channels or series. I watch 90% of content on my XBox so this is a lot harder to navigate than YouTube. - The Search function across platforms is very buggy. I've typed in the exact name of First only content before, only for it not to show up in the search results. I can click through menus to eventually find it, but searching is very difficult. I'm not sure if these have been brought up before, but I wanted to add them here in case! Unfortunately since I watch mainly on my XBox this are pretty big bugs for me.
So I know this is a web development group but perhaps you could point me in the direction of your networking team, please?
Hi, I am currently waiting to get a internship with Rooster Teeth Studios and while I wait I was wondering if there is anything I could do to help.
I've been having an issue with a few podcasts along with Heroes & Halfwits where the majority of videos will play for a few seconds/minutes and randomly pause itself. I can't tell if it's buffering because so far the fix I've been using is to pause/unpause; this works up until it does stops again 2 minutes later. I've resorted to using YouTube for now where 1080p loads just fine, but I can't watch First videos anywhere else. On top of that, certain videos won't even play. I'll open a link and wait for it to autoplay but never starts, which would be fine but when I click play, nothing changes. I work for an ISP and have updated equipment running at >175mbps so I'm not sure where the issue is.
You probably seen that thrash Chinese topics in rvb topic etc. Maybe you need add some additonal protection ?
The "Live" banner no longer appears on the Recently Added page. It does appear underneath videos once you select one and underneath the video on the home page.
The forum for consoles is a generation behind. Would updating change much, no. But it would look less abandoned. On another topic will the android app ever get a development? It works but could use some updating.
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct spot to submit bugs (Couldn't find a dedicated area on the site for it), but I've encountered two separate bugs with pagination that seems to affect all group pages. The first bug is that when you select a tab that isn't the first tab (Say, the Members tab), and use the pagination at the bottom, the page will load to the page you selected but also switch you back to the first tab (News), instead of keeping you on the tab you were on. (TL;DR Active tab resets to first tab on reload/pagination) The second bug is that using the pagination on any tab simultaneously effects every other tab. So say, if I were on the members page of a group, and navigated to page 5 using the pagination at the bottom. The page would reload (And set me on the 'News' tab again, due to the bug above ^), and -also- place me on page 5 of news. The Images, Members and Forum tabs will also be paginated to page 5. (TL;DR Pagination on any given tab will also switch pagination on other tabs to the same page numbers, regardless if they're present or not) Hope this helps! While I do like the timer at the end of the video so it can auto play to another video, I find it annoying when I want to go back to the previous page to watch a different video than that suggested. I find this worst on Funhaus videos since many of them go all the way up until the actual end of the video. I was wondering what are thoughts on extending the timer to start 5 seconds before the end of the video and then do the switch 5 seconds after the video switch?
On chrome the video stays at 00:00 to 00:00 no matter what i do, and in firefox i get the "a network error caused the media download to fail part-way" error. Is it a plugin issue? Provider issue? Any idea or suggestion would be appreciated , thanks W10 PRO / Chrome 55.0.2883.87 m (64-bit) / Firefox 50.1.0
There is a bug in binge mode where instead of going to the next video it hangs with a "random" number for the "Up next in", so far the numbers I've gotten are '420', '723', '561'(I've gotten this one a couple times), and '10' non of the numbers count down. The way I've found to fix it is refresh the page, turn on binge mode (as it will be off when you refresh) and skip to the end and it will go to the next video as normal. To recreate this you: 1. Make sure Binge mode is on 2. Open 2 videos 3. In the first video turn off binge mode 4. Skip to the end of the second video
Are notifications broken? The "Notifications Are Disabled" tag has disappeared as the site has gotten sorted out from the RWBY load, but I have several weekly shows that should be giving me notifications, but Theater Mode was the only one I actually got. I'm also not getting notified of replies to comments I make, as I should be.
Here you can suggest how to fight spammers. No idea is too stupid, complicated, or weird.
Recently I have been having some slow loading of some pages while on my mobile devices. I am curious if it is on my stuff or the site being wonky.
Cruise around the forums and you see long dead threads on page 1, while recent threads are lost to the quagmire of unsorted pages of threads Archiving & Purging means we could get a better mix of Live vs Dead threads, and a lower overall thread count means faster running servers. Considering the mass exodus of forum using members in the past 2-3 years, I would speculate that the majority, if not the overwhelming majority, of threads are 3+ years dead. So purge them out of the live system to a different archived server- If we want them we can still link or quote them from there
I like the "Next Video" feature but could hitting the "x" make it disappear? Other than that, the new player looks/works fantastic!
Is this in the works? or is it something that won't be a part of the player?
