So, Is there more people like me....

I live 9000 km away from texas.... So I think I will never have the chances to go to an RTX, well Yeah I can spend 2000+ dollar to go there but the problem is that is to much money and I don't have friend that enjoy RT to that big extent that would like to go to and RTX and waste that amount of money. So if I manage to go there I would be all alone. Are there more people like me with this problem?

RTX 2013 attendee almost dies.

Okay, sorry for the breaking-news like title, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to word this right. Anyways, I was browsing a fellow Halo forum "http://carnage.bungie.org/" and I read a recent topic from Morpheus, 1 of the veteran members at HBO, and his trip that went all to hell and back. I'll quote the starting post below from him: carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?read=... Even though this was a serious incident, I'm honestly going to be as light as I can, because I don't like talking about serious stuff. I was hoping to have a big-ass write-up of RTX with lots of pictures, some autographs, and one of the best experiences of my life, but a very stupid decision and an unforeseen disaster turned it into an admittedly scary ordeal with long-lasting(if not permanent) consequences. How An Immature Decision And A Scrape With Death Made Me Miss RTX. Going to Austin and (finally) being a part of RTX was so exciting, I honestly couldn't wait since April, when I bought the tickets. Plus, going on a road trip was a major bonus--I never go anywhere. So, as a foolish dumbass--I stopped at the nearest gas station and filled an entire cooler with nothing but soda, milk, CHOCOLATE milk, and orange juice. Well... Chugging all that sugar the whole trip spiked me like I wouldn't believe. I ended up more susceptible to the heat, and I could barely stand any of it. I had to stop at pretty much every water cooler they had to catch a drink, thinking I was just dehydrated--but I just didn't feel right all through the weekend. I missed pretty much all the panels I wanted to attend, I was too late for the autograph lines, missing out on my chance of having Shannon sign my Recollection set, and I still felt sick. On Sunday, I decided to just skip the events of the last day and go home, as I was feeling worse than ever. As it turns out, that was my body's final warning. After checking out of my hotel, I was horribly dizzy and knew I couldn't continue a 3 hour trip without a meal to eat, which was what I thought I needed. I originally drove to a Denny's down the street, but the place was overflowing with people and I knew I wouldn't be able to wait that long. So I got back in the car and made a (retrospectively) dangerous drive looking for restaurants until I found a Burger King. By then I was out of it, and could barely stand on my feet. The rest is hazy--I remember walking in and asking for a large water, but the cashiers didn't give it to me--I guess they were assuming I was drunk or intending not to pay. I remember sitting down at one of their tables, and I waited for about 15 minutes. I got back up, asked for water again, didn't get it, and eventually I had to use the restroom. Apparently, I stumbled into the women's bathroom by mistake(again, I had no idea where I was, so ha ha ha, yuk it up.) Anyway, I used the facilities, where I slipped in and out of consciousness, until someone from outside eventually called me and asked me to come out. In my failing mind, I thought they were calling me because I was taking too long, so I told them I was coming and got up to pull my pants back up. I swear to God, I'd never had more trouble putting on pants in my entire life. I felt like I had no control over my hands, the world was tilting back and forth, I had to grab onto almost everything in the stall to keep from falling over, but I eventually got the button fastened and the belt tightened. When I came out, I think I saw an ambulance outside-- then I passed out. The next thing I remember, I was actually in said ambulance, and the paramedics kept asking questions about me in order to keep me awake. I remember answering them and speaking like there was nothing wrong, and I was thinking, "Why am I on a stretcher in an EMS vehicle? I don't feel like something's wrong..." I must've faded out again, because the next time I woke up, I was in the ICU. Doctors told me I had near-fatal diabetic shock, and that when they found me my blood sugar was over 900. ...Yeah. Thanks to the paramedics, 2 1/2 bags of insulin, and a motherfucking miracle, I was "there but for the grace of God". And I don't know if there was a clerical error, or a delay in an update, but I wasn't reported in the hospital when I was first admitted. My parents had NO idea where I was or that I was even hospitalized. When they did learn, they still didn't know which hospital I was admitted to. Can any of you even imagine what that's like? Knowing that your child is hurt and not being able to find them? But eventually, one of the doctors or nurses or whomever, went through my cell phone(so glad I didn't put any porn on there before I left for Austin) and called them. Heh--funny story--I don't even remember this. Apparently, after I was moved to the ICU and was put in a bed, in my unconscious stupor, I got up out of the bed, and managed to rip out all three of my IV's AND my catheter(thank God I wasn't awake for that--can you imagine yanking a 4-inch tube and a BALLOON out of your penis?) AND my gown, and stumbled around naked for all the nurses to see. Fun. They had to tie me down. After I was put on an insulin drip, having the most painful urination(s) into a bag for several days, my sugar dropped down to manageable levels, and I was discharged on the 10th. I now have Type 1(the worse type) Diabetes, and must take big steps to eating more healthy. However, I'm glad to say I've made a full recovery otherwise, and am back home with my family. I have to stick myself with needles every day though, which is annoying, but as my dad always said, it's better than the alternative. SO! That's how I ended up missing RTX. [...] Theres a little more but I'm hitting a character limit here so just hit the link above. Just figured I'd share this with you guys so you can send him some warm wishes his way, sounds like he needs it poor guy.

We would appreciate any and all feedback this community has for us and any suggestions with how to proceed in the future. Post your videos

Hey everyone! I want to cut together a video of what the attending RTX is like, but I need more footage. So, post and link any video you took. RTX is a lot more than watching panels, so It can be convention footage, 6th street party footage, whatever. You will get credit at the end for any video or audio used. Thanks!

VIP Badges for RTX 2014?

I just finished up filling out the RTX 2013 Feedback Form (which you should definitely fill out too!!) and suggested VIP badges to be for sale to the general public. As a frequent con-goer, I've found VIP badges to be super helpful - they've allowed me to get priority seating for most panels, concerts, and autograph lines. I was hoping this would be a helpful implement, seeing as the main issue for RTX 2013, I thought, was getting in line for panels and autographs. Other goodies you could get with a VIP badge might include deluxe swag bags, which have a lot more stuff in it, like a Tshirt, a hat, or even a coupon to the RT store. Usually VIP badges for big cons with similar perks go for $100+, but I figure it'd be well worth dropping that kind of money to get a good spot in line. SO for those of you who went to RTX 2013, what is your opinion on the whole VIP badge idea? Is this a good idea? Or am I just spouting out crazy bullshit? lol

Badge #0001?

This is probably a long shot, but I'm trying to find out who has badge #0001 from RTX 2013. I have the very first badge from the 2011 RTX and I'm trying to find everyone who has the first badge from each RTX. Anyone know who has it?

RTX 2013 Press Coverage

Hey guys, Kevin here from Video Game Rescue. I know I should post in here more. I have been super busy with all of the press footage from RTX. I talked with a ton of people and got a ton of footage and really wanted to share it with you guys. I also wanted a central place to share it with all of you, and starting a new topic here seems like the most appropriate place to post this stuff. I am starting small, but through the week I will be releasing more and more videos. I got an interview with Geoff, who actually informs of some of the behind the scenes stuff from actually making a single let's play (incredibly informative information) and Jack, who gives us insight about how he got started with Rooster Teeth. I am releasing the Jack interview this Tuesday and the Geoff interview on Thursday. I am releasing at the very least a video a day, but probably way more than that each day. I have, roughly, about 10-15 videos from RTX. My plan was to release everything by the end of the week (ok, so way more than 1 video a day, closer to 2 or 3) I worked pretty hard at this and am taking a ton of pride in it, so I really hope you guys enjoy it. By all means, let me know what you think since I tried pretty hard to get as much content as possible that is very informative. Anywho, here is the link to the playlist for my RTX 2013 coverage. RTX 2013 Coverage by Video Game Rescue This is what is currently up: Introduction (which is just like what it sounds like, but it also has a small montage of me at RTX) An interview I did with the lead level designer for BattleBlock Theater Gameplay of Battleblock Theater on their arcade cabinets An interview with Tan Tran from Game Salad about Game Salad and he shows off some demos of Game Salad Live Let's Play hosted by Michael and Gavin (Surgeon Simulator) Interview with David Gates of Osiris Studios about Mist of Stagnation Interview with Jack Pattillo Shadow Warrior Interview Shadow Warrior Gameplay Interview with Geoff Ramsey (Geoff goes really deep in to the process of creating a single Let's Play, which is surprising and amazing that they are able to make as many videos as they do with the amount of work involved behind the scenes. Geoff explains the process of a single video and also gets in to how many videos they make a week) RWBY First Impressions (I give my impressions of RWBY just mere moments after seeing it) Halo Global Championship Round 1 Kevin Commentates for Marc during the Halo Prelims EDIT: I should point out, as you can probably see in the intro video (and now the Geoff interview since that is released), that I understand that my pants look weird in the Geoff interview. They are about 2-3 sizes too big for me so they really look like parachute pants. I am in the middle of losing a bunch of weight (I have lost roughly 75 pounds) and do not want to buy new pants until I hit a more stable weight. Pretty much just check the list here (saves a single click of going to YouTube) daily this week since all through this week I will be posting up a ton of content. I will just edit this post when something new is up instead of replying to it to avoid continually bumping this. EDIT 2: All of my RTX content is now up, so hopefully it shows a few things here and there that you might have missed. Post edited 7/19/13 12:18PM

Main Theater

Hello, I'm Andrew, the Guardian who headed operation of the Main Theater. What I'd like this thread to be is a general discussion of how y'all felt things went: good and bad. PLEASE be constructive if you can but complaints are also welcome as that may help to draw our attention to unknown issues. Everyone's opinions are their own and they are valid to them so if you have a difference of opinion let it just be that. Thanks for the feedback and helping us provide you with the best experiences possible.
