Happy Veteran's Day!

Just wanted to drop a quick thank you to all veterans today. To me this is a day of remembrance of all of my fellow enlisted members who served this great country. I look back on my time in the Air Force and remember the sacrifice we all make every day and I am proud. It is because of our Veterans we can walk freely down the street without oppression or fear. It is because our amazing veterans we are allowed to have events like RTX for Rooster Teeth to hold. Although I may never have seen combat myself I have known many who have.  I want to say thank you to each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart!! Can't wait to hopefully see y'all back next year!

RTX 2016 Guardian Photos

Hey Guardians, First off, awesome job this year at RTX! You all are an amazing group of men and women who give up their weekend to work your asses off and it showed. For those of you who don’t know me I’m Connor and I take a LOT of photos. Each year I make a goal to take a photo of every Guardian I see throughout the weekend that I can. I know I missed a bunch of you but unfortunately that’s the nature of the con. As small gift to all of you I have added every photo that I took to a private album on my website and where you can go and download the photo FOR FREE. The way my website is set up there is a “Buy Photos” button above the picture but you won’t have to do that to download them, (I’m not going to stop you if you want to though) instead you can save the photos in their maximum resolution without purchasing. To get the photos in the highest resolution click on the one you want first so it will maximize and then right-click to save-as. In addition I saw a lot of you taking photos of yourselves or each other as Guardians and some of you have expressed interest in sharing them with everyone so I have made that possible via my website as well. Did You Miss The Buttons?

So you're back home from RTX, slowly recovering from all the fun, and you're starting to go through the pictures that you and others took, when you start noticing something... There's an awful lot of people sporting nifty buttons. Buttons that you maybe didn't see during the con, because you were busy, you know, being awesome at your Guardian duties. Or maybe you *did* see them, but never got a chance to catch where they were coming from, because again, we were all busy, busy Guardians. And now, here you are, all button-less. Fear not! As I was packing up to leave Austin, I realized that I still had a fair amount of the official unofficial Guardian Button (By Our Powers Combined), as well as supplies for more of the sets. If you'd like any of the buttons that were given away to Guardians during RTX, just message me for more info, and I'll be happy to mail them to you! Anything not marked with a red crayon X is available by request, completely free of charge. I just want to bring the joy of nifty buttons to my fellow Guardians. ^_^ So if you, or some Guardian you know, would be interested in some of the above, just let me know! Post RTX Video

Hey guys. I'd like to make a post-RTX video, and I wanted to know if you guys had some footage that you don't mind me using, or want me to use that you can either send to me directly through email, or through another service like Dropbox or Hightail. I'd like to make this as awesome as possible, and I want to credit the people that send me footage, so please let me know how you want to be credited. Again, I'd like to make a really great video, so just send me whatever footage you can, lines, cosplayers, interviews (if you can, I know some of you can't), video of the expo floor, maybe just sightseeing Austin. No video of panels, please, I'd rather not hop into that hot mess. Anyway, I had a blast this year, I met some really cool people, and I'd love to do it again next year.

Lost phone at RTX

I lost my phone this year. I doubt that it was in the convention center but I'll still ask. Did anyone find a white iPhone 6 with a black wallet case? It also contains a (now locked) wells fargo bank card, my photo ID, a health insurance card, and a BLS certification.

Extra Badge?

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had an extra badge they are willing to gift me. I am driving from Arizona so 20 hour trip ahead of me, my dad has been wonderful enough to drive with me so I don't have to go it alone. I was going to see if anyone bought an extra badge he could use? He is not a fan of RT, honestly doesn't even know what's going on but I know he will enjoy the neediness of the whole thing and see what he drove his daughter 20 hours to participate in. Just thught I'd ask :D

It's Dangerous To Go Alone; Take this n' that

As a mobile unit of information, helpfulness, and merry-making, you may absolutely carry provisions! Sometimes we can't fit everything into a purse or pockets, so we totally allow you to carry a bag. What kind of bag? Messenger bag, low hanging drawstring bags (typically what our swag bags look like), low hanging backpacks, bags to strap to your leg, fanny packs, utility and/or festival belts. Any kind of bag, really, as long as it does not cover the graphics (both front and back) on your Guardian shirt. What do you fill that bag with? Wallet - Self explanatory, yo. Carry your medication with you - Keep your meds handy in case there is an evacuation - Once the building is evacuated, the Austin PD will NOT let people back into the building until the "all-clear" and that could take HOURS. Carry a water bottle with you - Water will be provided, but in limited supply. Grab a bottle and refill as the day goes on. If you have a camel pack, you may absolutely wear it BUT it cannot hide the GUARDIAN on the back of your shirt. You can totally rock that camel pack under your shirt like a well hydrated Quasimodo. Cell phone - Some teams are utilizing phone apps for communication. Cell phones are also great for emergencies, photos for fun and reference, and note taking A schedule - Either the physical RTX schedule or the app version on the smartphone. Optional items to consider: **Hand sanitizer - to use when you are no where near a bathroom or sink. Hand sanitizer is NOT a 100% substitution for hand washing. **Altoids, Tic Tacs, mints, gum - Freshen your breath through out the day! Overall, we do not have a gum-chewing rule other than keep it to a minimum while talking to attendees. **Small snacks - granola, trail mix, various bars of protein. Kudos if you fit a pizza in there... **Mini first aid kits - band-aids and such. **Tissue - If you are super prone to nosebleeds like I am... **Tampons/Pads - because your body has an agenda and will ignore what the calendar says. **Extra Sharpies! **Cell phone charger/Extra battery - I always carry a battery pack. I always want to be reachable by phone! It's not just my crippling addiction to Neko Atsumi that drains my cell battery!! **You may carry a utility tool (Leatherman) to use when necessary. Do not brandish it or pretend that it's a toy. The G-Spot is a great place to keep your bags/belongings - extra change of clothing, non-essentials, extra supplies, food and such. There will be a G-Spot team to keep the public out, but we cannot ever guarantee the safety of your belongings. That is why we ask that you do not bring your laptop, iPad, tablet, and other expensive items to leave in the G-Spot. Please leave those items at your hotel or (for the smaller devices) carry them with you. Bring phone chargers. If you have extra, consider bringing them and leaving them for folks to use in the G-Spot (We will tag your charger so it doesn't accidentally walk off) G-Spot hours of operation TBD. So, what do you like to carry with you?

RTX Street Teams - TEXAS - Houston - San Antonio - Dallas

Hey peeps! I had reached out to many of you on the Texas Guardian thread and then my inbox got super out of hand. Not because of you guys!!! It's just that time of the event planning where my inbox explodes and I get a little overwhelmed. So, I'm making the Street Team a separate thread. WHAT: RTX Street Team WHERE: Looking for people living or close to San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas/FW (We are FULL for Austin) HOW: I have some Street Team Captains. They are being sent flyers. You will meet with the Street Team Captain of your area, grab some flyers, and hand them out in your city. I realize that school is over, but hitting up the summer dwellers on campus and/or around the college hot spots is still a good idea. Other places - street fairs, farmer's markets, public events, and so on. WHEN: Whenever. This is flexible for your schedule. Street Team Captains can come up with a time & place, but the power is yours once you have the flyers in your hot lil' hands ^_^ Weekends are usually best, but the schedule is open! Stick TOGETHER if possible - Safety in numbers <3 Also, it looks pretty cool when a group of people are promoting together rather than a lone person on a street corner. You are a GUARDIAN - Even though you will not be wearing the shirt (Wearing Guardian shirt, Rooster Teeth or RTX merch is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED), you are still out there representing Guardians, Rooster Teeth, RTX/SGC, and the RT Community. Be kind, enthusiastic, and respectful! Transportation

Hello all, I was recently wondering how guardians flying into Austin will get to their hotels/ the convention center, since Lyft and Uber are no longer options in the city. The podcast crew has made it clear that the cab system is not great, and will most likely be leaving many of us stranded. With that, I was wondering if any guardians who live in Austin may be willing to share alternatives, or even be willing to carpool. Just throwing it out there!

So I hear Uber is dead in Austin

As a Canadian who was planning on using Uber to get around the city during the event to get from place to place I must say.... This sucks. But hey I figured I could bother you local guardians for some tips on how transit works in the city of Austin since my plans literally exploded thanks to government regulation ( yay... government...... X_X ) So ya.... I dunno. Any suggestions from the locals on how to get around the city? Edit: Never mind I saw the other thread..... People offered decent solutions to my problem there. Ignore me!

Transport during RTX?

So it seems that Uber and Lyft will be pulling out of Austin due to some laws that were passed. Pretty much asking Austinites here but what would be the best way to move through Austin in your opinions? Is the bus system reliable, how about bike shares, etc. Any tips or suggestions would be really appreciated.

Welcome Registration Guardians of 2016! I, along with my partner in registering crime @MissMegumi, will be your team leads once again this year. We are happy to be back and are excited to get to know our new team members and issue sweet high fives to those returning to the team from last year and beyond! Registration is one of the first Guardian groups attendees will come into contact with and we are responsible for getting everyone (Attendees, VIPs, Special Guests, Media and Exhibitors) their correct passes into the event. We are the information booth, the lost and found and the protectors of staff loot (re: gifts) along with many other things! Once again we will have locations at all the event sites which include the Austin Convention Center, the Hilton and the JW Marriott. There will be a lieutenant at each satellite location for folks to direct any concerns and Megan and I will try to cycle through to give them breaks and assist with any sticky wicket situations. We will provide you with more details as they become more available, so please make sure you keep an eye on the emails you listed when you submitted to be a Guardian. This includes your team assignments/locations and submissions for panel leave. Please let us know if you are unable to perform your duties as a Guardian for any reason as far in advance as you can so that adjustments can be made. **Just a quick FYI - our team is on the petite side, so we will likely require everyone to work full day shifts at least for pre-reg and opening day of RTX as those are our biggest volume days for attendee needs. Staffing levels will be assessed on an ongoing basis with opportunities to assist other teams in Reg down time, or relieved early from duty for panels or RTX exploration.
