PANICS Storyline and level availability?
I think we need to consider a couple of things. Yeah, PANICS was good, and it could very well become RT's "other" Machinima saga. However, we've only seen one level map used, and unless the game can be programmed to have multiple players with custom avatars in Co-op to use the mission maps, RT may be limited in what they have to work with.
Then again, it is a computer game, and it can be hacked.
The first 5 eps would make great exposition to a full series. Since FEAR has "bullet time," it would explain how Frank might be able to use it, if it were used in a full series of PANICS. As for rebuilding bravo team?
Frank: "I think I'm having a serious case of Deja Vu."
Possible plotline:
Bravo team could be chasing down the "little girl ghost" through the same set of areas that the player would in FEAR...however, the storyline would diverge, much like RvB diverged from the Halo storyline at the first episode, with a brief reference: "Master Chief's blowin' up the whole Covenant armada..." So Fettel isn't there, neither are the Wades, though if the models can be used, they'll be used for different characters...much like the bridge crewman in Halo 1 became the body of Vic.
Elements of the game engine would make for a great deal of recurring gags or plot hooks.
BL: "Frank...how the hell did you move so fast?"
Frank: "Beats me, Chief...I think I had too much coffee."
B1: "You just nailed that guy to the ceiling by his head!"
BL: "I was just trying to hang a picture frame!"
B2: "I'm having some real wild Deja Vu..."
BL(G): "Frank....frank...I am the ghost of Bravo one..."
B1: "What is that thing?"
Frank: "I think it's some kind of cryogenic container for holding an evil force."
B2: "Huh...I wonder how much beer it could hold?"
Frank: "Whew...we made it out of there...and just in time."
B1: "Why do you say that?"
Frank: "Well the main reactor was about to explode."
BL: "What are you talking about? That reactor was entirely fail-safe! As soon as it was damaged it shut down!"
B2: "That's good to know, well at least we don't have anything to worry about while we wait for our ride."
(Cut to: office, microwave oven, overheating something like a burrito, it beeps, then cut to nuclear explosion sequence)
Frank: "Oh...son of a..."
And don't even get me started on the expansion. It might be good for one season, maybe two. Could be more if Sierra makes a FEAR 2.
