Awhile ago I made a journal about how I'm learning that when making a show you can't skip steps in order to achieve a faster end product.
A few days ago I went out and bought a sketch book to use as something to draw story boards on. Now I'm not artist, and I knew going in it would look like crap and not really do justice what I pictured in my head. What I didn't really realize was how long it takes to draw out each scene. Maybe it's because I can't draw but it took probably 30 or 40 minutes just fro me to story board the first 30 - 40 seconds of the episode.. and thats not even getting to the more heavy action parts that will more than likely have lots of cuts back and forth.
I now understand the pain I'm sure some story board artists feel. Also its becoming more clear why some larger scale productions take so long to make.
I'm honestly at this point considering just turning what was going to be this really fun experience of making a funny machinima into a short, funny, short story... But then again I'm probably forgetting about some major time constraint there as well.
Oh well.. back to drawing stick figures I go!
