It's really cool to have the introspection of looking back at all the past comments, and content. This site is like a genuine time capsule to me. Feels like I'm treading behind the echoes of all the people who logged into this site. It feels weird to see a post from 6 years ago, and try to remember how the world was then, and how different internet culture was, never mind something like a post from 2006. I was only born in '01, so for me, these years and time gaps are a lot bigger than they are for veteran RT fans.

It's almost akin to seeing a marble statue, an ancient stone carving, and having the reverence of that moment as you acknowledge the time that has crypt by across those who came before. Sure, this just might be a website for people, a product of a modern age and an accumulation of a simpler and calmer culture of internet surfers. But for me, I cant help, but go, "big picture". When you look at these old posts, they're moments and emotions frozen in time. Take a step back, and focus on what the landscape and atmosphere was like for that person when they typed out their words.

Maybe I'm being poetic, maybe I'm just nostalgic, perhaps I'm reading to much into it... but I cant help but wonder about what became of all these people as the years passed. A twenty year old college student commenting in 2006, would be forty-one now. That's a lot of change to consider. A lot of time. I'm sure few, if any at all, will actually read this, but as I am now in my mid twenties, with so much life ahead, yet so much behind me as well, this website enables me to sit down and reflect. It allows me to reminisce to a time that felt safer, simpler, and more connective and fun. It's like a little break, from all the troubles and perils that lay in wait for us ahead.

This is my fortress of solitude, my get away. This is ours, as a community, to share and uphold.
