Ten Little Roosters e07

Review of my picks for this episode:
Dammit! I had both the victim and weapon right and then I over-thought things and changed my mind . Turns out that it doesn't matter that Barbara is obviously the killer now.

My predictions for the next episode:
Just three roosters left
One died of a pun

The weapon
In the episode 5 journal, SixRomeo said "TWO of the THREE remaining instruments of death have already been revealed in some form or another". That's the Computer Mouse, and the Puma. So the final murder weapon has not been revealed. By my reckoning that leaves these:
A Literal Red Herring
Bathroom Scale
Lava
Joe the Cat
King's Crown
The Power of Math
Crescent Rose Scythe
Slow Motion Explosion
Treadmill

Technically none of the weapons are a pun. Any of them could be used in a pun. The only one I can think of is running Miles on a Treadmill. However, SixRomeo has previously been very liberal with definitions and technicalities (I still don't have a clear explanation of what made Chris a martyr) so I feel like I can't expect that to be the answer.

Instead I think the weapon will be the Literal Red Herring. It's technically an oxymoron, and an ironic one at that, but people commonly confuse those with puns so I think that might be the case here. Heck, I confused myself writing this and had to check a dictionary. Heck, maybe SixRomeo will actually turn it into a pun and it will be all three

The murderer
So Barbara is the obvious murderer as Miles was a bystander to Adam's murder, and Ryan was poisoned and put in the hole. She might think that Ryan is still in the hole, so it makes sense that Miles would be her next target. Hmm, maybe the Treadmill is the murder weapon after all.

But what if SixRomeo was fucking with us by putting Ryan in the hole? What if SixRomeo wants us to discard Ryan as a suspect? In episodes 3 and 4 Ryan wonders if he is the murderer and doesn't know it, then he passes out and awakens in the hole. What if SixRomeo gave us the truth and then an elaborate distraction to make us dismiss the truth? We didn't actually see decisive evidence that Ryan was poisoned. Maybe his hallucination and passing out was due to poison, or maybe due to psychosis? When Barbara suggested that he locked himself in the hole was she hinting at her own sickness, or Ryan's?

The victim
If Ryan is the murderer, then Barbara becomes a great candidate for "died of a pun".

The survivor
The killer was killed
And then there was one

I've always liked Miles as the survivor. He is the only one trying to find a way out which portrays him as the hero of this piece. Even from the start, before we saw him trying to find a way out, he was the only one who didn't receive a photo of his victim from Michael. Is that because he didn't kill anyone like the others? Michael said that they all were killers, but what if he was wrong? Michael thought that he orchestrated the night, but he was just a pawn. The killer is the one truly in control of the evening, and what if they wanted one innocent attendee to the party?

Look at the poem. At first I wasn't sure who it was written by. The seemingly obvious answer is the murderer, but the second-last line always threw me. "The killer was killed". Why would the killer predict their own death? That didn't make sense to me. I thought that maybe someone else knew what was going on like Michael did. But only one person could predict such elaborate deaths - the one doing the killing. And just as that person wanted to murder 8 people, they also want to be killed. That's why Miles is here.

Miles is the one person who doesn't have blood on his hands. He is the one person that does not deserve to be punished. He will be the one to end it all by ending the murderer. He will be the one to survive.

My final answer:
Ryan is the murderer. He kills Barbara with a Literal Red Herring. Ryan then forces Miles into a corner. Miles kills Ryan and is the last one.
