I never played Final Fantasy but I know the story of 7. I love turn based JRPGs but FF always seemed to bloated to me in the grindy sense, but after finishing my 120 hour playthrough of Persona 5 Royal, I had hoped FF7r would be my next game, but I'm not sure about the combat. P5 seemed to perfect that turn based combat and make it feel fast paced and action packed, this seems to have gone for more action and painstaking load out management than tactics, but the constant switching with poor AI seems like the best thing going for it, reminds me of P5s baton pass system. The review kinda just worries me when there's only a few minutes spent talking about combat compared to story and graphics and the summation is that combat is "more for a modern audience, like Kingdom Hearts" which could either mean blow all your big damage spells when the cool down is up or that it's not a grind and winning is about tactics more than numbers. The review could have used more examples on that, as a result I'm not really sold yet, might wait for price to go down a lot.
