Going into this, I thought, I REALLY thought, I might have to eat my words regarding Freaky Friday being my favorite episode. Like, my words were between the bread slices and I was about to pop the sandwich into my mouth. Only reason I didn't eat my words is because there was no East in this episode, and I really love the dynamics between Phase and East. But I did REALLY enjoy seeing how Phase acts in her free time while she's alone in her room, and WOW that sounded a lot less creepy in my head. Anyway, she does bonsai trimming, tai chi, tends a miniature dry garden, spends time with her cat.
A couple of details I noticed, and approve of:
1. Every is talking about Phase while there is a water cooler in the background. Water cooler talk. Love it.
2. I noticed that the TV in the upper left-hand corner of the room is tuned in to Family Shatters. Nice little bit of meta there. No, not THAT Meta.
3. One's native language is French? *looks up info on Fiona* Oh, Fiona is French. That makes sense. Can One speak Italian too? Italian is just a sexy as French, though a different kind of sexy. And it's REALLY fun to swear in Italian.
On a side note: Yes, the "rules" of the English language, especially the various United States dialects, can be very confusing. Especially because English, as a language, tends to knock out other languages in a back alley, search through their pockets, and take whatever words it likes and uses it however it wants. Hell, I had to rewrite the previous sentence to not use the word "rifle" in the context of searching quickly and carelessly just to make sure nobody got confused to think I was using "rifle" in the context of a gun, which would be an understandable mistake given that the setting of my metaphor for the "growth" of the English language is a mugging.
