i hope the school isn't saying "you're being competitively graded, which means only one of you can get an A" like that's a good thing??? i mean i work in education and i've never met anyone who's actually studied educational theory and practice who thinks competitive grading is a good thing. it really just cultivates a terrible class atmosphere and student anxiety and gives the false impression that everything in life needs to be a competition and cooperation will only make you weaker.
