Just because something might be a joke to you, it might fail to translate in text form since there is little to derive from context cues such as voice tone/facial expressions. Furthermore, not all humor is appreciated by everyone, so in the future if someone notifies you that they are offended, simply apologize, do not fan them flames and continue to bait them.
