Someone I've known for every minute of their 18-year life. Died today as they committed suicide because of other people bullying them because they were a non-binary, pansexual black person who dressed in bright coloured clothing and always had brightly coloured hair in funky styles. Yet other people through their hatred made my friend, my goddaughter, hate the world and herself so much that she took her own life. She left a note saying she was going to heaven as there is no hate there. And I just I can’t I won’t understand why. Just why. There is no god damn reason that can explain that to me right now. Just that the world has claimed another person away from me and once again I’m left not understanding. Just I can’t and won’t understand racism, sexism, or any kind of abuse to people. The circle of ignoring it needs to stop. People need to change, change must happen. Black people are people and they matter, they do. That’s a fact, not opinion…FACT. I won’t allow people to discredit them. It’s not right. If you can help in any way, please do.
