I suck at updating social media like this right now, but feel it's really about time I did considering, so where to start? Back in the day, when i was just a young Halo obsessed fan boy doing the occasional pantomime and play to stop me spending ALL my life in-front of my Xbox or at school I discovered this little web machinima series a group of guys were making.
It was called Red vs Blue and I repeatedly laughed my head off watching episodes 1-12 over and over (all that were released at the time). I thought "Wow", then... "I have a Media PC", and from there, "surely I can record something like this", SO I used the appropriate composite cables and hooked my old Xbox (without any numbers tacked onto the end back then) into my pc's input slots, ran the television recording software that came with the PC and pushed in Turok, one of the few games I owned at the time and recorded a test. This included the loading screen and start up video, a video where some form of axe brains a dino guy and then after that I even managed a few minutes of game play.
This was when I realized with the voice overs and single player "follow this direct route - one track" levels there was little I could do bar changing the voices for the same/similar story, I thought Wow that's going to limit me and then loaded up halo to see how multiplayer worked with recording, the possibilities it opened up where massive compared to most other games of the time, I can see why RT used it and why it generated a machinima wave at the time.
I dabbled occasionally from then on recording little snippets just for myself and my brother having fun, but alas eventually I even stopped doing that.
I did keep up the acting though, and currently perform in about 3 plays a year here in the U.K.
.... A few amateur musicals and murder mystery nights as well.... and the occasional extra work for Television, including the highlight so far where I got to meet Michael Palin and Mark Addy.
Anyway I'm hoping I still have years of progress, choices and chances ahead of me. In the meantime though I still enjoy logging into Rooster Teeth to watch some achievement hunter and Red vs Blue in my spare time... when I have it.
