This is wild!
I really wasn't expecting all of my journals and all of the comments on them to be available here. I had given up hope of ever getting the opportunity to go back and reflect on my activity here. Much of it I remember fondly but some of it I cringe thinking about. I've been going through a few of my old journals, and it's wild to see how much I've changed! It's almost like opening a time capsule!
Anyway, it's good to see so many hours of my life returned to me. If there is any way to access our old DM's that would be spectacular! So how is everyone doing?

I can't describe how upsetting it is that after years of dedicating myself to this community and documenting my life through journals here that my effort just doesn't exist anymore. I was definitely a jerk at times and I don't look at everything I've done here with pride. That said, I opened myself up to this community in ways I've never done anywhere else. There is a lot of support and growth that is just no longer documented anywhere and it makes me sad. I thank everyone who was supportive or called me out on my bullshit. I sure wish I had a record of that, but I was one of the people advocating hard for a new site and I guess this is what we got.
It is what it is I suppose. I don't think I'll ever be able to rebuild what I had here and that legitimately bothers me sometimes. Those of you who I still chat with on Twitter and FB are extremely appreciated. Maybe I should try my hand at Tik Tok haha! I genuinely hope those of you who took the time to make an impact on my life are doing well. Hell, even those of you who didn't; I miss you all!
I get like 5 new followers a day. That used to be impressive before they all became spam accounts. Props to anyone from back in the day still holding it down here.
One last thing
I wish I had known about this when I made my last post but better late than never. Turns out there's a new site that's very reminiscent of the old-school community site and I want you all to come join us over there. It's called Forum Rats and a bunch of us old-school RT fans that used to chat all the time have already joined. If you're looking for some nostalgia and some good conversation then you should check it out ASAP!
I posted this on the legacy site but figured I'd do it here as well... After hearing the news about the legacy site getting the axe, the recent layoffs and the price increase that even affects grandfathered prices; I think I am done trying to support a community here. There are many valid reasons to take issue with the recent announcement of a First membership price increase so don't let the cult-like following I see surrounding RT sometimes tell you otherwise. I guess I'll give my two cents on it.
From a certain perspective the increase is not so bad. It's essentially a few extra dollars a month and I can personally afford it. However, my ability to afford it is not the issue for me. I am much more concerned with value or how much bang I get for my buck. Just based on the content I watch here I'm having a hard time justifying the increase in cost. Then when I consider all the other streaming services I pay for I have to admit that RT is no Netflix or Hulu. I love the exclusive First content but there is not enough of it for me to take RT seriously with this.
I'm still salty about what happened to the community here on this site. Personally I'd smile and pay $60 no problem if we were to receive some community perks like we used to get for being 'Sponsors' back in the day. It's pretty clear where RT's priorities are when it comes to providing content vs providing an engaging community site and I've given up on ever re-living the good old days where we all felt like a part of something special. If they are going to purely rely on content that is fine, but they need more exclusive and quality content behind that paywall to justify it (If they start putting previously free content behind that wall I'll officially be done). If they are going to raise the price they need to raise the bar and make it worth it because right now I'm just not seeing it.
To end this I just want to say that I'm critical of Rooster Teeth because I love Rooster Teeth. That's all I'm going to say for now.
I decided to look through some old journals and thank you all so much for commenting through the years! It seems like there was a 50/50 chance of me being insightful or just beligerant. I wish I could go back and re-do a few conversations but what's done is done. It's crazy how different I am now compared to the guy I was during my prime popularity in this community. I miss that old platform and will remember some of you forever because of it. That said I think I used a little to much shock value and said some things for the wrong reasons. Looking back on some of my conversations here is extremely eye opening.
Figured I'd use the new site to see who is still around. I like that I can just scroll down and see what's going on with my friends from the community but I'm not seeng much activity tbh. If you see this I'd just like to ask how you've been? Feel free to give me some pointers for trying to re-engage with the community here. I was tempted to post this on the legacy community but figured it's about time to move on.
