Armchair Game Makers: Silent Hill

I agree with everything Kdin said. I LOVE Silent Hill. It has such great lore, symbolism and has so much to explore because the horrors of each game are tailored to the characters. Side note: I also dislike that Pyramid head is in everything when he/they were suppose to symbolize James's self punishment specifically. The monster design, the atmosphere and the story of these games is amazing. They are like psychological quicksand. Your struggling against the horror of it all kinda makes you sink deeper. The way they layer different elements of horror is amazing. I REALLY miss this series. :(

War time silent hill? Tokyo silent hill? No thanks, those sound too much like other games. It should take place in silent hill or lose the title. I agree with Kdin, just do like the RE2 remake and modernize the original games. But Kdin, the nurses do make sense in SH3, just like they do in SH1. Cheryl spent a lot of time in the hospital before dying there. And Heather is Cheryl reincarnated. The nurses were also toned down compared to SH2. Unlike the movie, which was ridiculous.

I would personally like to see a Silent Hill game take place during Civil Rights era of the 50/60's. We already know how evil and malicious humanity can be, but that point in time was one of those moments where it was truly being played out in front of the entire world. I'd really like to see a Black protagonist (maybe they'd be Freedom Rider which would give the perfect reason as to how they ended up in Silent Hill) battle his/her way through horrors influenced by the one of the most consequential era's in our nations history. It also would hopefully force a studio to actually diversify their staff so they could craft this story in a proper way with a set of eyes.
