Aw man!! Awesome BTS!!! Also didn't realize Max worked with RT, that's pretty cool. He should be in more LP's
I never realized just how much work went into something like this. All those cameras and all safety preparation was astounding. All of this and somehow the lab rats either get nutchecked by paintballs or sniped in the head by the rebels. Awesome BTS, especially when Chris didn't realize his pants were down and of course Barbara was the first to notice!
I liked meeting more of the technical production team. I'm an editor, and I just love hearing this stuff and being like 'oh they shot on a red dragon, i should look up how that compares to the other red cams'
Same! I'm a whore for learning about production cameras
It's nice to see the more serious side to Blaine. Good BTS.
Considering this is "Behind the Scenes," I would have liked to know how they managed to keep using the paintball guns with the aforementioned waterlogging.
By bringing 200 of them, and changing the gun after each wipeout?
A good simple paintball gun is pretty much waterproof so long as you drain the water out before firing. All it really is is a mechanism (the hopper) to get a ball into the barrel and then a valve to release the CO2 to propel said ball. So waterproofing that is similar to real guns (with far fewer problems if you screw up): Drain before firing.
The angle of the dangle handled the barrel as it would mostly drain out while they were getting airborne. As for the hopper, I assume they made sure to spring for one where the hopper sealed between shots (which is generally a good idea anyway) so that you don't get an entire container (magazine?) full of water and paintballs. Beyond that, just spray it with a sealant and you are set.
I like how in the beginning when they were using their hick voices, none of them were looking at each other until Barbara made her cousin joke.
It's amazing to see how much time and effort goes into making these Immersions. It's really cool.
Love the Behind The Scenes featurettes, please produce more
