Don't want to be that guy, but Ashley, Pen-ul-tim-ate vs sec-ond to last. They both have four syllables.
But penultimate sounds cooler.
I thought for sure you guys would have made it to the final 3 :(
You have it exactly right Burnie that in retrospect you can see where you lost the time, yet at the same time there was very little you could have done all that differently.
With the future in mind, as you said you had the highest average to not end up 1st, that almost seems a shoe-in for an all-star season... would you do that if asked?
It would seem like an unfair edge for them to be on an all-star season. Not that they're inherently better racers, but their media following has to be substantially larger than any other previous team, even those loved by Race fans. That could easily give them an edge in being recognised or some other circumstance. I can also imagine a scenario where they get eliminated due to sly gamesmanship of another team, then the sly team gets bombarded online with hate from overzealous RT fans, and those who were just playing to win don't have an adequate fan base to 'defend' them.
Basically, it seems to me that the internet personality season only works because they're all of relatively equal fame. That being said, I would absolutely love to see Burnie and Ashley race again. Even outside of being a huge RT fan they were the stand-out team for me.
Have you guys thought about getting a special guest from the race to talk about the final leg? One of the teams in the final would be cool (the winner would be even cooler!
It was Burnie and Ashley all the way for me watching this show, I'm so happy they got so far! But now that they're eliminated I don't care to watch the finale. I do hope that the red team can win though, they've got a lot of heart and are by far the nicest people of the teams left.
Same here. I have never watched the Amazing Race before until Burnie and Ashley were in it. So I was definitely rooting for them and was bummed that didn't make it into the final 3. However, watching this podcast, they made really good point. Since they finale always takes place in the US, Burnie and Ashley got the most out of the travelling and doing fun activities out of the show. Something the every day person only dreams about taking a month vacation to travel the world. In my eyes the fact they got to the last leg and were so close to coming in Third they won the Amazing Race for me. My vote is Sheri and Cole to win this Friday as well.
Going into it I had the same thoughts. After Burnie and Ashley were eliminated I didn't think I'd watch. So I guess for the show itself it's a good thing they made it as far as they did because I can definitely stick it out for one more episode to see the finale.
Lets see an Office Space style video of Burnie destroying the unicycle.
BURNIE AND ASHLEY WERE ROBBED!
I'm proud they got as far as they did, but the "first place" guys were complete jerks.
I hope Sheri and Cole win because then they'll be a prime example of the phrase "slow and steady wins the race".
I want them to win simply because I do not want the other two to win.
I understand that the dancers and the green team were working together through the race. However, to still be teaming up in the second to last race is kind of , while a valid strategy, a poor race edict than to treat that point on as a 4 interdependent team royal. A silver lining though, the dancers and the green team felt so threatened by racing againts Ashley and Burnie in the finals that they had to team up to eliminate them.
