I'm glad they did this. I'm really enjoying "seeing someone I know" on the show!
Very cool to see your guys first hand stories and opinions! Are these being posted weekly after the episodes or more spread out?
I'm so exited for this! I have been enjoying the show so much.
I totally left the room in my exitment too!
This is awesome!! Burnie & Ashley are the only reason I'm watching the race!!
When did they end up taking last in a leg?
I don't recall that either, probably has yet to happen but Burnie's recall order messed up.
Don't remember them ever placing last up till now. They've always ended in the middle to the front of the pack.
First episode!
Yeah, I was wondering this too. What they're remarking on is the first leg in the race, not the pit stop (when all the teams got to the place with time slots).
I find the behind the scenes stuff like this fascinating. Like I hadn't thought about it until they mentioned the crew in the cab with them but every time we see a contestant running the crew must be running with them carry cameras and god knows what else.
I was thinking during last episode when they showed the teams driving, "Why is someone sitting in the back? Wouldn't it be better if they both sat in front?" Then I remembered that there's actually a crew following them and the camera man is in the passenger seat.
It's awesome seeing Burnie and Ashley talk about this! Tyler Oakley is coming to my campus tonight so I'll probably get his take on stuff as well!
This season of The Amazing Race is the first television program I've watched episode-by-episode in around ten years. The amount of fun and involvement I found in following it has amazed me - *wink.* Still excited for the rest of the season; I'm watching for Burnie and Ashley, but I'm invested now and I'm going to watch it to the end even if they get eliminated.
A few questions I'd love to hear you address on a subsequent cast (please do more!):
What's in a Name - Do you think that your names helped you qualify for the race (admittedly, I'm not familiar with previous seasons) - since no contestants share a name? Or, if there were two contestants with the same name, do you know or suppose that one would be asked to pick a nickname?
Second, where was the balcony you two filmed your opening title cast card? Square brick buildings and wrought-iron fire escapes don't seem particularly Austin to me.
I have to say, Matt is a bloody saint, the poor guy, but I can't root for half of a team. Korey and Tyler rock, Burnie and Ash - totally the best - team, team players, and the best sports of the bunch (Except maybe Scott - but just Scott, and it did seem to end up hurting him). Maybe we'll hear from Kurt now that Blair's out and Bro-die will be doing some roadblocks. Neither Zach nor Rachel have been featured heavily - but if I had to pick a come-from-behind winner, it would be those two.
Anyway, I've thoroughly enjoyed the adventure, and I'm pulling for you two! Thanks for the cast!
I think those openings might have been filmed in California, they look like they're wearing those outfits from the team interviews in the beginning. All the teams look like they're vaguely one the same streets.
I feel bad for Matt a lot, but I think they edit that relationship very specifically.
I loved watching Ashley nail the dance challenge so quickly, she must've done it the quickest. I am still so mad at that f**king cab driver though. Hope you get first place soon!
The fourth image on google for "Cartagena Columbia catacombs" is Burnie and Ashley on The Amazing Race.
This is awesome. Really enjoying this season of Amazing race and having you guys to cheer on. Really interesting to hear your recap and behind the scenes info about the legs and looking forward to more!
Burnie and Ashley being in the amazing race has been really nice because my mom will text me every week to tell me how great "my internet people" are doing.
