Tyler I feel like you scrutinized the president’s comments too harshly. I saw that clip and felt the president meant the referee’s decision was not the finish we all wanted. I felt she meant she wanted a fair game. I also feel like calling Serena a child is off the mark because she’s had to work really hard to be called a cheater. I think standing up for yourself is honorable and I agree it sucks Osaka had to be in the middle of it.

I don't blame Serena. A little annoyed a point was taken from match. I am upset at the fan reaction to choose the award ceremony to boo instead of doing it on the court. Mob mentality is bullshit. Osaka busted her ass to be the best in this open. In this slam. For Osaka to be degraded and outshined by the on court ruckus, by the fucking jeering, and the president saying someone else you beat is the "champion of champions" next to Osaka who was the winner. I disliked Serena then. I disliked Ramos then. I disliked the tennis prez. The stage belonged to Osaka and she felt misplaced enough to apologise for not being what the tennis fans want. I hope the organisation does better to the other athletes that are not the face on every ad. I wish Osaka all the luck going forwards. Girl, you deserve it all. Great slam, you played phenomenally.

The ref did nothing wrong. His job is to enforce the rules and those rules apply to everyone equally. That's the only reason why he's there. He wasn't being "petty" when he penalize her. He was doing his job in accordance with the rules. Serena (and her coach) broke the rules repeatedly and the ref isn't able to choose which rules he enforces and which ones he ignores.
