Selling stuff from back then

So, I've it a bit of a financial bind, and unfortunately, have to think about selling some of my RT wares. I've got a poster I purchased from the first RTX, way back in 2011. It's got the signatures of everyone in RT that was there at the time, including Millie. If you are interested in it, please feel free to make me an offer. I've also got a the special edition Achievement Hunter poster from the Operation: Supply Drop livestream they did a few years back, a lanyard from that RTX, as well as one of the shirts. please PM me if interested. This sucks, but I've gotta pay bills, ya know? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=8423247636...

A New Forum for Old Memories

Seeing as RTX 2011 has been put up as an official forum on the forums page, I think this is an appropriate time for us to share our memories of the first RTX. For me personally, RTX was an event that changed my life forever. This was the first RT gathering of any sort that I had been to other than PAX, and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I'd met a few Internet friends before now, but this was the first time I'd meet so many of the people I had come to know and love online. The entire time I spent in Austin was full of meeting old friends for the first time, laughs, partying and memories. I made new bonds with people I'd only known in passing, all in the week-long time frame I was there for. All the experiences from that weekend, from meeting the entire staff to the Sunday zombie shoot would cement my love for the Rooster Teeth family, and I had a helluva ride. My favorite moment was being able to tour the RT offices, something I thought I'd never get to do. To say that I was one of the lucky 535 people that was able to attend such a momentous occasion... Well, it's more than I could even describe. So thank you Rooster Teeth. Thank you for having RTX, thank you for bringing the community closer together, thank you for the support you've given us throughout the years, thank you for the laughs you produce on a daily basis, and thank you for everything else I could possibly mention. So tell us your stories now. What was RTX 2011? What's your favorite memory? What was the best thing about RTX for you?

RTX 2012 Scary Numbers...

On the podcast, Gus, Griffon, and Burnie mentioned that they want to grow RTX into a 5-thousand people event! This scares me, because even though I was unable to make it to RTX this year (even though I had tickets... not happy), one of the coolest ideas about it was that it was small, personal, and private and you actually had a good chance of being able to interact with everyone. Being able to sit down and just chat with some of the staff was one of the main reasons I wanted to go, and Im sure this personal feel would be lost in a couple thousand person event. Now, even though I only recently joined the site, I have been following RT for a while and they will always be a bunch of guys in Burnie's bedroom just messing around to me, and having such this huge event just doesnt seem to fit their M.O. I understand that from a business perspective, their expanding, and all the congrats in the world to them, but it just doesnt feel right. EDIT: Because of these reasons, next year, I probably wouldnt be so quick to spend the couple hundred dollars to fly out to Texas for a weekend... :( Anyone agree with me? That's my spiel, thanks for listening and have good night. Post edited 6/28/11 8:58PM

Princess from Captain N

One of the cartoons shown before the main event at the Alamo Drafthouse was Captain N: The Game Master. This was the cartoon with teenage boy with the zapper, Pit (Kid Icarus), Megaman (Megaman), Simon (Castlevania), Mother Brain (Metroid), King Hippy (Punch-Out), Bo Jackson (WTF?!), etc. etc...and Princess Lana from...Myself, Heather, and everyone sitting around us could NOT figure out where the princess was from. It bugged the hell out of me and I did some strenuous research consisting of going on IMDB, figuring out her name, then Googling it, then watching the Nostalgia Critic video about Captain N. And the result is that the princess, Princess Lana, is from... ...FUCK ALL!! She wasn't in any video game ever published either in the USA or Japan. Nor was her father, King Charles. And for the record, I now know more about this stupid, godawful 22.5 minute commercial for the crappiest of crappy NES/FamiCom accessories by completely buttfucking classic, iconic characters from amazing games (who knew Simon Belmont was gay?) than I ever wanted to. I took this bullet for my fellow RTXers. You're welcome. You can now forget this horrible, horrible cartoon ever existed unless you're drunk and/or high and you can't find the video for "Do the Mario".

RTX 2011 Q&A's

So there were 3 of them....any spectacular questions asked or answers given? I was in theater 6 and this was the last one asked. Question: "Are you guys going to be doing any live action movies?" Burnie: "Good question. Uhh...thats the direction were headed. That's our background.....(Jokes).......... Shorts are kind of our way of preparing for doing a live action feature." So I pooped a little when this was said. It was a highlight of the weekend for me. If I ever get around to editing the video I took so I can post it on YouTube I will link it. Anyway did anyone in the other theaters get a really good question answered? Or even anyone just talking to someone throughout the weekend?

RTX 2012 Date Discussion

In the Drunk Tank today (6/1/11), Burnie briefly mentions perhaps moving RTX to try to get it away from Memorial Day weekend. Clearly, the date for RTX 2012 is currently being discussed by the RT Staff, and I figured we could have our own discussion about it here. Personally, I think the pros of having it at this time far outweigh the cons! At least, that is true for what I could think of... Pros: School seems to be out for most people. At the very least, college/university students are out. In particular, the University of Texas is not in session. This means there were far fewer people in Austin than normal. Three day weekend allowed people to hang out an extra day. The Salt Lick lunch trip that 70+ of us took on Monday wouldn't be possible on a normal weekend! Cons: Hot as balls. Close proximity to E3 means that RTX likely won't see the kind of announcements that the PAX events get. (Not sure if that is a goal of RTX or not) Hot as balls. Anyone else have any pros/cons? I'm sure if we have a civilized and rational discussion, our voice will be heard in the meetings for RTX 2012

RTX Coffee Mugs?

I know there were a few coffee mugs made with the RTX logo on them that sold out very fast, and I think it was Jack who said if enough people wanted more they could get more ordered and we could just buy them through the online store. I'm wondering when and if that could be possible? They are very nice looking and my brother and I would love to have one each.

Favorite Part.

What was your favorite part of RTX. Mine would have to be taking the tour of the office, getting to see where redvsblue gets made.

RTX Photos

Sure, there's the official gallery, but you have to wait for approval (and the RT guys are very, very tired right now) and we all have friends/family we wanted to share RTX glory with who aren't on the site. So here's a place where you can post links to your photo album. My (spoiler-free and non-DNA-violating) pictures are up on my public Facebook album so feel free to browse or tag yourself since I have almost no idea who most of you are :p

Coming to RTX again next year?

I sure as hell am. Assuming RoosterTeeth does it again of course. I hope we didn't cause to much problems for them, and I hope they had as much fun as I did, and as I hope you guys did. I hope they decide to do this again every year, because I will definitely be going.

RTX-only Forum?

I'm sure this is possible but might take a lot of work, but it would be nice to have a security-protected forum or thread only open to people who went to RTX. That way, we can talk about freely in detail all the awesome stuff we saw without spoiling for others or breaking our NDAs. The shorts, the trailers, the clips, etc... Personally, I'd love to speculate with some of the other filmmaker types as to what they're going to do with the...well, see, now I can't even say specifically without possibly spilling the beans! However, it has been fun teasing my friends on Facebook. "It was so cool when we saw {redacted due to NDA} and when they showed {redacted due to NDA} and the {redacted due to NDA} looked awesome!"

Thank You Page

I just want to say Thank You to everyone from this weekend. It was such an amazing experience, that no other RTX will be able to match. Way to peak early guys. To the Volunteers, the Staff and their families: Thank you for putting up with us for the week. We were a handful, but you took it all in stride. It was amazing how willing all of you were to stop and chat and answer the same questions for 3 days. I have never met a group of people who appreciated their fans as much as you do. To the Community: You all are what made this even so lasting for me. I have never felt so apart of a community then I have this weekend. I have always been a causal user of the site, but I don't think I can ever go back. The locals who provided transportation to and from the airport for the out of towner's really saved out butts, or well at least mine. My cousin came with me to RTX and he had only seen a few episodes of RvB, Your patience and enthusiasm explaining all of our little inside jokes from episodes, podcasts, comics or anything else, was refreshing. This was my first convention of any kind, and you broke the stigma I had over the people who attend these events. You could not have been more accepting of and outsider, and you helped hook him for life. So thats my piece. There is far more for me to say, but I would like to open the floor up to anyone else who wants to say a special thanks to anyone or everyone, instead of rambling on.

Stuck in Dallas

So long story short my girlfriend and I (flying from Vegas) just found out that the flight we had from Dallas to Austin was canceled. Anybody have any ideas that can help the two of us get from Dallas to Austin? BTW we are about to get on the plane from Vegas to Dallas (3 hour flight).
