Burnie, Ashley, Gus, and Chad play Anthem and discuss games as a service, loot shooters, the future of gaming, and more on this week's episode of Game Time!
As a game designer I’m really interested in Anthem. I just sadly don’t have the same amount of time I had during the four years of Destiny 1. One thing here is that the enemy’s seem like they don’t move a lot. They just kind of sit there for the most part and shoot from distance. That seems kind of boring because there’s no real threat towards you in close range encounters so then you just fly and shoot from far away. That’s my impression right now at least. I am interested in how the movement mechanics feel though.
@Sadpandabyrd Lots of mobs move around quite a bit. It depends on what they are. Snipers will try to find a hill/building to stand on and shoot you. Shotgunners/melee will rush you. Basic gunners will slowly move towards you in the middle. More advanced gunners will go for the flanks. If you're not paying attention, you can easily get surrounded and in a world of hurt. Also, she was playing on Normal, which is difficulty 2 of 6. Even just on hard, it can get quite rough.
@zechio interesting to hear! I’m interested in the flying but there’s something I can’t quite pin down about the wall cycle which feels clunky or odd or something... the run animation and flying and movement looks really good and also intuitive
I'm sure. he kinda holds the nay-sayer stance out of the group. balances the opinions given by them so it's not too positive but not too negative. much like anthem itself lol
@RedHood18 The 2 are not the same thing. They still have plans for Mass Effect. Anthem was started before even the original Destiny released...well before the end of ME. ME is on a break due to ME itself.
