And suddenly, my life is complete.
This almost makes up for all the flaws in RWBY's writing. Almost.
Im genuinely curious, what do you consider to be the flaws in RWBY's writing?
The terrible implementation of themes like racism, terrible exposition of basic concepts and mechanics, inconsistent power levels, inconsistent characterization, refusal to address character flaws and wrongs, telling and almost never showing, plot holes galore, etc.
I could go on and on but doing so makes me want to bang my head into a wall. But for example's sake, let's take the first two I mentioned. They have done a VERY poor job of actually SHOWING us racism against Faunus. Instead, all we get is repeated tellings of racism without any proof to back it up. The "No Faunus" sign in the latest episode was a nice subtle touch that actually showed discrimination but it's too little too late considering this is 5 YEARS into the series.
Terrible exposition of basic concepts and mechanics now. I'm referring to the explanation of Aura we got in "Lighting The Fire". It was nice to learn that info about the basic mechanics of Aura...5 YEARS into the series. Seriously?
And these two are only from this Volume so far. Trust me man, I could make a freaking thesis on the writing flaws of RWBY. Which is a shame because I genuinely like RWBY and it's made me want to pursue a career in animation which no show has ever done to me before. But watching RWBY now is a time of excitement and trepidation because unlike the vast majority of fans who blind themselves to RWBY's flaws, I'm not afraid to be critical about the show, especially when it fails as basic narrative storytelling.
Hope this answers your question.
I'm not alone anymore! Nice to see someone with critical reason here.
Let’s not forget one thing folks,
This 3 are the masterminds of RWBY, Camp Camp and Gen:Lock.
Masterminds sounds like too strong of a word.
...Minds sounds like it would fit.
Also, we haven't seen Gen:Lock yet so we'll have to see about whether it's good or not.
@Jaune_Black_Smudge oh who are you kidding. ROOSTER TEETH IS DOING A MECH SHOW!!! If they manage to fuck that up I'll be FUCKING amazed.
Can’t wait to watch this
Ok...i have to ask. Why is this up already on Facebook as of..last week apparently, yet even RT-first members are having to wait? that's..kinda a reversal of how this usually work isn't it?
Yes it's bullshit, apparently being a Sponsor doesn't mean anything anymore. Wouldn't even have known myself since I don't use facebook but just checked
basically, if i remember rightly, blaine made a post a while back saying that season 5 would air first on facebook and then TEN days later on the rt site, no advance for first members at all, we just get it the same time as everyone else and after facebook users. then when it got downvoted by the hundreds there was a hasty "explanation" that it wasn't actually series 5 it was some special extra episodes but pretty much everyone agreed that was BS and RT is just taking away yet another one of the things we're meant to get as first members
Apparently it's some sort of deal they ended up making with Facebook, where basically they got more money in exchange for putting the first five episodes up on Facebook first as "themed" episodes... not exactly ideal, and I refuse to watch any content put on Facebook, but if they get more money for it I can see why they would agree to such a deal.
This is the RVB season 15 argument all over again!!
I would TOTALY do the anime fight one. But my style of fights would be along the lines of One Piece, Soul Eater or RWBY...shameless plug. shameless plug.
Are you sure. one piece pacing is worse than dragon ball z now.
@dumbird I don't mean in episode time but if you cut out all the fluff and backstory/flashbacks and show the fight in real time. That way it dosnt have to get as rediculously slow as Dragon Ball Z with the talking but also staying somewhat grounded...so to speak.
This is literally now my favourite mdb !!!! Niiiiiiceee! =>
Just to be crystal clear: I did not watch this on Facebook, at all.
And pretty ballsy to ask us to buy merch, when this is being paid for already by Facebook and not us the fans. "Hey, buy our stuff! Then we can continue to not support you as First members or fans, because Facebook offered us more money. We had a choice between your money and Facebooks, and we want both."
Moaning over, MDB is still probably my favorite RT concept.
how are they not supporting us by making 5 special episodes of MDB with fb. if anything its a way for more people to be introduced. Its not like theyre ditching the fans. First members get a pretty sweet deal and I do not understand all the salt over 5 episodes. we get most things first and we also get exclusive shows and extras. So I do not understand your issue? so what if theyre advertising there merch? if you don't want to buy it then don't? its not like they are forcing you
Finally Vegeta is taller than Goku all thanks to Miles.
And he can use the Spirit Bomb and Kamehameha
I need a soundbite of Miles saying I'm into some weird shit
So wait... what about disagreements over the internet? Do you then have to do some Anime-style detective work to track down the other person and bust into their home suddenly, yelling "PREPARE TO DIE!"?
the first one to type "Omae wa mou shindeiru" wins
Death note happens. Who can figure out the other one's name first.
I imagine it more like death note.
No no no! It's like Digimon the Movie, where you get sucked into the computer and have to surf across the internet to take each other out in an epic battle that starts messing with computers around the world!
Missed opportunity how the thought bubbles aren't RTAA style, though Jordan is probably busy enough already.
I'd do all three. Important question for number two though, is the tentacle made out of human DNA? I have a shellfish allergy so it'll be real painful if it's actually squid or octopus.
