Man, hearing about Irrational Games made me very sad. They did such top quality work. Hope for nothing but the best of luck in their new projects. I worry about the Bioshock franchise with 2K.

Personally I'm excited for the redirecting of Irrational. It sucks that so many had to be let go in order for Levine to feel that his vision can be achieved, but having a smaller team can allow everyone to focus on a singular idea without the risk of too many cooks in the kitchen. As for the question posed about cheaters vs invasive anti-cheating programming.... I think it really does come down to trust. I think that Valve has a good name in the industry and with its players so I don't expect them to be doing anything malicious with their software. And I think that measures need to be taken against cheaters because I don't think I would ever be able to enjoy a multiplier experience where I am questioning if the guy who just stomped me into the ground because he was good or if he had a hack running. Anyway, my two cents.

Additional news!!! Right now some gamers on the Xbox One playing with a WiFi connection are having problems with "networking" when trying to connect to multiplayer within games and only when in a game. (So other Live services like YouTube and the store are working, but if you try to play Assassin's Creed IV multiplayer, as an example, you'll get an error stating that the network is not valid) The fix for this problem is a hard reboot on the Xbox One (hold the power button down for 10 seconds on the console) and while the Xbox is off, connect an ethernet cable and play off a wired connection. As it stands, that is the only fix, but for those who only have WiFi as an option, Xbox is working on a patch of some sort to fix the problem, but they have no release window as to when the problem will be fixed.

2K sucks

The developments made by Irrational games over the years have been Phenomenal, Just looking back at games like BioShock 3 and System Shock 2 show you the development of a studio ahead of their time. I look forwards to seeing their future games, However I will certainly miss the current game style like BioShock and System shock in future, the blend of story telling fps/rpg is done by many studios now but done well by very few.
