As a trans guy, I can attest that getting people to help you with changing legal stuff is SUPER important. I did it without any help.... and It took two years of walls and back-and-forths. These systems are not set up yet to help us move over smoothly, and it is laborious and can be expensive and, depending on your area, potentially da ngerous and difficult. I went to the DMV once to change my gender marker and they lied to me and told me to get a doctors surgical note (which was already outdated part of the law in NJ) and refused the paperwork I printed from the OFFICIAL .gov page in NJ, Thank you for promoting LGBT services!!!!!!
