Completely agree about being stupid. However, in my opinion, the same type of people doing this, are the same people that are trying to force others to fall in line and return to civility - a hybrid remake of 1950's white civility. No dancing, no cursing, no protesting.

I can see where you're coming from on that, I hate the people trying to police what anyone else does, but I've seen plenty of people of all races, creeds and classes trying to restrict dialogue, especially from sports fans. Look no further than the fun police on tumblr or in colleges trying to say that everything fun is "problematic." I'm more worried about the younger crazies than the old ones tbh

But there's the irony: it's no longer the conservative, white people driving it. It's the PC left now. No one in the US has been as puritan as them since the fucking Puritans.
