So this is releasing at a different time from the patch now? Just watched The Patch on YouTube and this isn't even up for sponsors?
How many times are they going to play a romance visual novel before they get the hint? Their complaints are mostly the same every time. Lots of clicking and not much else. I know it is random to an extent which game they play, but Meg put it in right? They can play whatever they want, it’s their show, but if they have to play a visual novel then wouldn’t it behoove them to play a more action oriented one? I have been reading Fate/Stay Night and that seems more up their alley (even though it is a pain in the ass to find and the world building is massive). I am sure there are others that are easier to find (I am not really into visual novels).
Seriously, if they don't like playing visual novels they should just stop playing them instead of repeatedly playing them and then complaining about the defining characteristics of the genre.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is a really good example of a visual novel done right in my opinion. While linear, it's a story that actually works and is really good. Plus it has some really cool gameplay in it. I would totally recommend it for game club.
***EDIT***
Forgot to add it's available on steam now, not just the PS VITA.
I can understand why they don't like VNs, Though i wonder if Ryan would like the Fate/stay night VN, seeing as it became an anime... multiple times.
I bought this game as my first time trying to experience the visual novel genre. This story made little sense. The whole primes of the game was admirable, at best. I don't know if it was a direct translation, but it felt like every panel at the school with the ghosts had the word "roof" in it. Like they were beating this shit out you with the game title. I get it. Ghosts are on the roof. Knock it the hell off
There are much better VNs out there. I would recommend Clannad or IF My Heart Had Wings(If you get that one from Steam, look into the patch to add in the removed scenes and dialogue).
In this video: the gang gets acquainted with yuri.
Ohhh boy
Her Story.. Already played it, it's good for maybe an hour or two and interesting enough to want to find more of the story, no real pay out to figuring out the whole story but it's the journey, right? Creepy as fuck late at night in the dark..
Gus said we need more balls after playing a lesbian game
Excuse you Ryan, Aki/Yuka is the best couple in the game.
I think this is the weakest visual novel we've played but I want to finish it because I think I'm more than half way through it and I want my lesbian sex scenes.
Meg Turnery everybody
What the fuck is that video title? The shit you guys do for views.
I think that Game Club should be fortnightly rather than monthly. It's just so long between episodes now that it's over too quickly.
Another thing is that it doesn't seem as though they are making use of the month. This episode implied strongly that few if anyone actually got to the end of the game or didn't start playing until a few days beforehand. This wouldn't bother me as much if they didn't cite the extra time to finish games as a major reason for the monthly release.
I can appreciate that there is only so much time and you don't want every episode of The Patch to be "What have you been playing this week?", "Game Club game...", but I think with a fortnightly release you get the extra time to play, cover more games and I get to watch these great discussions more often.
