In 5th grade one of my classmates was an extra in The Happening and she would NOT shut up about it. Congrats, honey, you're a meme.
split was amazing... but i will never forgive that man for what he did to last airbender...
He's a great director... but Last Airbender is inexcusable.
LOL Great pay off guys ;)
Please, for the love of god, let Ashely host the next On The Spot after that last twist.
It might be a good show then ;D
Shots fired. Maybe have poor Jon participate as a contestant to flip the scales ^^
That would sure as hell make it interesting haha
To this day I still don't understand why Avatar the Last Airbender was made live action. It makes no sense to me what so ever.
It was way before Avatar was released that we lost faith with Shyamalan.
I have a special place in my heart for 10 Cloverfield Lane. More of a psych thriller but still a very well put together movie. John Goodman just adds so much to any movie he's in from Argo to The Big Lebowski and it's evident in 10 Cloverfield.
I ruin Arrival by guessing the ending 30 minutes in correctly.
Jon, what are your thoughts on the theory that when Kevin brought the flowers to the train station, it was i tribute to his father who had gotten on a train and "never returned" when Kevin was a child, leaving him with his abusive mother. Possibly the same train in the accident in Unbreakable with his father being one of the victims?
Oh man, i loved the twist there at the end!!
I love Shyamalan and this is the first time in a while that I have found anyone that agrees with me
Hey John,
My significant other has DID and I have seen them struggle over the last year especially with constant ads regarding Split. This movie's draw to get people in the seats was to play on societal stigma around people with DID, also colloquially and formerly known as multiple personality disorder, as evil or as an entirely fictional mental illness. I brought up how information shown in the trailers is incorrect and how Shyamalan did very little research into DID when making this movie but rather scratched the surface in order to play on people's judgement of people with DID. For example it is not uncommon to have the number of personalities the main character has, contrary to what Shyamalan claims in the movie. For more information I suggest you check out did-research.org and read Cameron West's (P.H.D.) personal story as someone with DID, First Person Plural: My Life as a Multiple ( https://www.amazon.com/First-Person-Plural-Life-Multiple/dp/0786863900 ).
I want to ask you to what extent are you able to enjoy the movie after learning more about DID and media portayal of people with DID and those affects?
You sound like a self-righteous dick. And if this is where you draw the line I am pretty sure no one in this community will miss you.
Not Flamebait. Also sorry I misspelled Jon's name. I draw the line at people portraying real individuals that struggling with mental disabilities as the subject of a fucking horror movie. You never know how this affects other people because you don't know who is in their lives.
