I was so waiting to hear that Jon hated Legion. However, I was so happy when he actually said he loved it. Finally something I can agree with him. If you have not seen it, watch it, Legion is amazing.
Jon, go rewatch Identity. It totally holds up, one of my favourites.
looks like i have to watch legion now. give me three hours and ill be back. i didnt see the last episode because i hadnt been able to see split, but i really love this show. been missing film stuff since the film club show ended so many years ago.
Knowing some of the character background for David Haller, "Legion" I want to hear Jon's theory. I have read some of the comics, so I don't think it's would be a spoiler. However, I don't want the show ruined/spoiled for everyone. I just want to know if I have a similar theory
I think you guys forgot how the watchmen comic ended. The Alien was created by Veidt to unite everyone as well. It wasn't actually an alien. Basically it's the scapegoat instead of Dr. Manhattan.
Exactly, and it was created by the writers and creators of the Black Freighter, which is the only reason it was in the book. The Ultimate cut is weird, because it keeps the Black Freighter, but it's totally narrative moot, except as a parallel about corrupted heroes.
I like it when Jon turns to the screen and yells about X-Men stuff not making sense.
I think that the sets are what makes Legion unique: it looks and feels new, while other shows like Flash are just filmed in those generic New York City type/ CSI lab type kind of sceneries. It's boring. The sets in Legion look cool af.
I wish you guys had touched more on Legion as compared to other superhero TV shows. You mentioned Flash off-hand, but neglected to comment on any of the Marvel Netflix shows (which I think are great, although have some missteps) or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (which has its ups and downs).
Also, I still think the opening monologue for Enjoy the Show is clunky and kind of condescending.
Great episode. Lovin' it, Jon.
I love funhaus' discussions on movies and tv. It'd be cool if you had one of them on one time!
Is there anything in the show that seems like it might be leading toward the Onslaught event in the Marvel universe?
Do an episode on Game of Thrones!!!
I feel like a good idea for an episode could be the discussion of trends within franchises, like how in Star Trek, all the even numbered movies are good and all the odd numbered ones are crap.
I don't understand how they can go on and on about how great it is that Legion isn't all about the powers and fights scenes all the time, but then shit on Iron Man 2 every chance they get because "I WAN CE DA SOOT"
