I've been raised to look around my surroundings when I'm in a car(even when I'm driving) since my dad wanted us to enjoy the experience and to see new things. So yeah, I always help people find parking even in the backseat.

If you're in the passenger seat, it's your job to assist the driver with parking, directions, radio tuning, and french fries. It's the unwritten rules of the road

Pilots get lots of help parking the plane. There's ATC and when they get to the gate, there's at least one guy waving them in. They are given very precise instructions on which taxiway to turn down on and where their final parking space will be. That said, the only time I find it helpful for passengers to pay attention to where we can park is in parking lots when we're looking for open stalls. In street parking scenarios, by the time they've read the sign and communicated it back to me, we're already past the opportunity.
