I teach and I make a mental point to always apologize to a kid when I think I got something wrong or overstepped.

My older brother had a teacher like that too, even refusing entry to teachers that had to use his lab for teaching a different subject. The running joke became that he was hiding the nuclear weapons Bush was claiming Iraq owned (it was relevant at the time, kids). On their very last day they were allowed entry into "his" room, and it was just a normal closet of a science room, absolutely nothing special about it

Had a similar experience once; during PE I screwed up something, I think catching a ball or something, because I have dyspraxia so such tasks are extremely difficult. A teacher assumed I screwed up on purpose and was messing around, so they just began screaming at me, accusing me of being a trouble-maker and just really trying to make me feel like shit...all because I didn't catch a ball. I was like, 6 or 7. The same teacher was apparently somewhat infamous for screaming and over-reacting to kids because my sister had a similar story. As an adult, it's pretty obvious that teacher was horribly abusive and should not have been teaching.

You think this is bad? I got a detention for DOING MY HOMEWORK. Full stop. I was late with some assignments and i needed to use a computer to do a few. So i asked the teacher of the class if i could get a note for my homeroom teacher so i could use the library computers. Nothing wrong with that. So i went and did the thing and got it done. Later that day however my homeroom teacher walked in during the class, had a brief whispered conversation with the class teacher, turned to leave, saw i was there and stated out loud for the whole class to hear “Detention.” Of course i was working vigilantly on more homework. It was so out of the blue the whole class went suddenly went dead silent. “What’d I do?!” I asked not unreasonably. “You weren’t where you’d said you’d be!” So it turns out the class teacher thought I meant come to her room to use the computers not the library’s. Thankfully my parents stepped in and didn’t have to serve the detention. But yes, I got a detention for doing my homework.

I was blowing spit bubbles while we were being yelled at for being too loud (a class of abt30 9/10 year olds) and my teacher took it as me going, "blah blah blah" and started yelling at me for mocking her. I said "no no I'm just blowing spit bubbles, I'm sorry I wasn't listening." but of course she didn't listen and kept screaming at me until the kids surrounding me jumped in with "She wasn't mocking you, she's just weird." "Yea she's just weird." "She doesn't know better!" and that's when the teacher realized she'd been screaming at the only special needs child in her class. The teacher next door came over to see what was going on, realized I was at the center of the other teacher's problem... and took me to spend the rest of the day in In School Suspension which was literally a 4ft² closet with a desk and chair. There was enough room to sit in the chair, stand to stretch, then sit back down again. So I was punished for being nuerodivergent and the teacher not knowing how to handle it.

If it was a two-way window, I'm guessing it was probably to the teacher's lounge or something. Otherwise why always have the room sealed when you could literally see into it?
