Well this is BS. "Let's change the rules AFTER a Pokemon dies to let us revive our Pokemon... in a NUZLOCKE run."
Look, I agree completely that extra exp-only catching should be allowed for grinding since there's no other way to do it in this version, but this "soul for a soul" crap is dumb and completely ruins primary dynamic of what a Nuzlocke is supposed to be. Eevee and Nidoking are DEAD and should not be allowed back in the party. You should have to make do with the first-area-caught Pokemon you have left.
And then all the whining about the Diglett's "unfair" Fissure over and over was got really petty. Random crits often do the same thing. That's the game, unexpected deaths happen. You should be weeping about your dead pokemon, not the fact some random scrub with an age-old gimmick-attack caused you to break the most important rule of the run. I guess my expectations of you guys abiding by rules with actual consequences in a Nuzlocke challenge were just too high. Meh.
@Shmittles The math on that Digletts move is just BS, when I did it he hit fissure 3 times in a row with a 30% accuracy. I cant even get an 80% accuracy move to hit 3 times in a row. So I call BS on the game, if the game wants to be unfair they should be able to bring a pokemon back.
@Shmittles Then the Nuzlocke is over, full stop. Jon only allowed the mulligan on that basis. Blaine wouldn’t have had a prayer against Serge otherwise without two of his heavy hitters. You can moan, throw a tantrum and whine to all who’ll tolerate you, but these are livestreams. If it offends your Nuzlocke purity, then by all means, don’t bother tuning in.
@TheHippyGriff It really isn't. 15 minutes of grinding catching for exp in this rediculously easy version would be more than enough to take on Surge. It's not nearly as difficult as they make it out to be.
@Shmittles For a regular Pokemon player or streamer, no, not at all. For Blaine and Jon, though? A full Nuzlocke is ambitious as hell, even in Gen VII.
I could feel it, from the guy's expression and reactions, through my screen the genuine pain and bloody shock of this episode's journey after the hour mark - shit got real quick, real fuckin quick.
