The Canada round made me laugh a little because they saw flat and my brain instantly went "Well they're in the prairies because it's fucking FLAT FOR DAYS!" and nobody knew :(
Quick Tips for Canada!:
If you can see the natural curve of the planet you're in Manitoba or Saskatchewan
If you see mountains you're in Alberta or British Columbia
If you see French you're probably in Quebec but you may be in Ontario or Newfoundland & Labradour near the border of Quebec
If you lots of rocks and trees but not exactly "mountains" you're probably in Ontario
If you see tundra (flat snowy icy ground, or dead grass) you're in one of the territories up north!
doing this kind of challenge and having to find the airport or the city hall or consulate or something from wherever theyre dropped in might be fun too
When Jon guessed St. John’s Newfoundland made me basically yell at my TV knowing for well that area is more of the territory’s look and St. John’s is a city and not the middle of no where.
that painting Gus mentioned was of the 15th. That exact painting was in a traveling exhibition about Napoleon that was in the museum i worked at. I've seen that thing a couple hundred times. I knew exactly where they were. that was crazy. I had to put down my food I was so shocked.
this was so much fun and I'd love to see it again!! as someone who's played GeoGuessr remotely w friends a bunch in the last year, I have a few gamerunning recs:
- walking around and hunting for clues is often half the fun, but if you're worried about those rounds taking too long, you can enable a time limit (I've found 3-5 minutes per round usually keeps a good balance of "there's time to hunt, but not *too* much time")
- the World map is (in my opinion) the best map, because it lets people bring in the random knowledge they might have about what language/type of writing you see on signs, what kind of climate you think you're in, etc
- if you want a truly co-op version, having one person pilot on Zoom while the others say "OH look at that one sign over there!" creates a wonderful & enjoyable amount of chaos when combined with a time limit
thanks y'all for a great vid!! :)
@cryptoast This game is new to me but im going to play it with my friends tonight over discord after messing around with it yesterday. Thank you for your recommendations!
