I'm sure more instruction happened than we saw in the video, but it didn't seem like Ellie was actually taught anything about building a shelter. She was taught fire, she made fire. I can't wait to see her come back and get the survival badge!

@Cainrin I was thinking the same thing. There didn't seem to be any instruction about how to use the sticks, leaves, plastic etc. to construct a shelter (like you said, maybe they just didn't show it?) but an example or basic design before she started would've given her more of a fighting chance.

@Cainrin it almost seems like they purposely wanted her to fail to get a badge just to show the audience that that can happen. Which makes sense, because before now I just assumed the episode would go on until she received the badge.

@Cainrin Couldn't agree more dude. Very weirdly structured episode with seemingly no training for the structure building. I would hope they done something and just deliberately chose not to show us.

@Cainrin I mean, she did say the main test here was less about actually building a tent or making a fire, but more on how to improvise with what you have so if they taught her how to use it it wouldn't really be much improvisation
