Every time I load RT Shorts Season 1: Episode 1: The Recording Session it freezes about 12 seconds in. The picture freezes and the audio stops but if I don't press pause on the video, the player keeps going and at the 1:04 mark it picks back up again. I have attempted this on my phone, laptop, and xbox one and recieved the same results. I think there may be others. I seem to remember other series with episodes with this problem but I can't remember where. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area. I'm new to the forum atmosphere, more of a observer type.
Presently, it seems that whenever you finish a video it randomly chooses another when on auto play to go to rather than playing the next episode in the series you are watching. It would be nice that if you are watching a series, for example Hardcore Tabletop, that upon completing the first episode it would go to the second episode rather than anything else. Alternatively, at least having that season of the series listed below so that you could at least click that instead of needing to travel back to the series page in order to choose the next episode to watch.
Hi RT Engineering, Watching a video on the RT site today from my android mobile, I was finding that I'd regularly experience a small skip forward in the video. I think it relates to the video quality changing. I only have the option to view the videos in "auto" so as my wifi connection changes with changing traffic on my network the video quality automatically adjusts and causes small half second skips as the video continues to play. Not sure if allowing more of the video to load ahead on mobiles would resolve it.
Starting this week I believe nothing stays in hi def on the app anymore. Some stuff will start out high def and then drops to what looks like 240P shortly after and some stuff starts horrible and never gets better. Not sure if this is due to the site changing or what but it just started happening.
For certain videos there is a large green block covering the screen and the part of the video that is visible is glitchy and doesn’t seem to work properly, the audio still works while this is happening. I’m not entirely sure but I think that it only happens on videos that are in 4K, one example was the AH video for Shafow of the Colossus.
Has anyone else wondered about SSLs on the site? I mean the site does have an SSL provided by the Amazon proxy, however there is no redirect to take you there automatically and links push you back to http. Google has really been pushing this lately before everyone starts getting big 'NOT SECURE' messages in their browsers. Even if the whole site isn't under https (which why not? Not everyone is running XP and it'll help SEO). The main concern for me is the Login page. If not the entire site, then atleast the login page should be under https. I mean it does work by entering it in manually so a 301 won't do much harm. Just a thought to the people in this group :)
Anyone else experiencing a black screen on the Xbox One RT App? I've tried uninstalling it and installing it but nothing seems to be working :/ Hoping AH or RT can fix it soon!
ever since about a week and a half ago i haven't been able to watch any of the livesteams on xbox one. It's just a black screen
Does anyone else experience the video you're watching ending early and skipping to the next video? It seems to start a countdown and even if I skip it, it still ends when someone is mid-sentence. Anyone know of a fix for this issue? Thanks guys!
for the past two weeks anytime i try and load a video on the site, it fails to load. The message over the player states that it is the result of server failure or network failure. It also recommends i use a modern browser. My chrome is up to date on my laptop and phone, and my home network is capable of loading any other video on any other site and its only on Rooster Teeth that I have experienced this problem. Ive looked on other sites for solutions but none have worked.
Eyo, Software Engineer here with an abundance of web/mobile experience and as I keep poking around, I keep seeing that there have to be a ton of ways to small quality of life improvements that shouldn't take too much work - DEPENDING on the tech employed. So really i'm just curious what this site runs on. It's got pretty RESTful set up from some of what I've seen, but it looks like there's either none or very little front end set up? No obvious giveaway of old .net stuff so I'm guessing Laravel/Bootstrap with no front end? (i.e. angular/etc) tl;dr What language/libraries does this run on? Reason: Can provide better feedback w/ that knowledge
I was just wondering if anyone in the RT IT Dept are working on adding captions to any of the videos the company are putting out . There are times when I would enjoy being able to watch content but am unable to do so due to lack of captions, and I have a friend i would like to share your videos with but if they don't have captions, i have to explain to her what is happening/ being talked about in every moment.
Browser: Chrome 58.0.3029.110 OS: macos I am completely unable to load any videos. The player tries cycle through the different stream qualities, but each time the link to the m3u8 file times out, until eventually the player gives up and fails with "The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported." Adblock is disabled. It seems that the issue might be with taucdn.net, but I'm not sure. EDIT: seems to be working again
RT+AH+FH+The Know are already in the app, i'm aware, but i would love to see, SA,GA and CowChop on there as well. Also is there any way you guys could add chromecast support? would love to send videos to the tv, on a queue or something and being able to use my phone as well!

I'm in the Xbox Insider program and just received the newest update and ever since everything I watch will freeze every 16 minutes of content. If I then skip ahead a few seconds it will then resume. If the item is under 16 minutes it plays just fine all the way through. I watched the time stamps and it is exactly every 16 minutes. I am also reporting this through the xbox one bug report just in case the update is causing this issue.
As the site has become more popular spam comments started proliferating and the flagging tool is fantastic, I use it a ton. I don't really like the fact that it reloads the page -and the video- though. I happen to scroll down to comment section quite often while I'm waiting for the video to load and I end up flagging all the Make 1 billion dollars in 15 minutes comments and it's inconvenient that the video reloads every time. Nothing major, just thought I'd share. Keep up the good work <3
I am a First member and tried to contact first via the first drop down member for assistance in getting an RTX ticket code which I did not receive. On the "still need more help page" there is a prominently displayed livechat option with no active link. I was attempting to access during the stated hours of operation. Either the link needs activating or the live chat option needs to be removed from the page.
Hey there, I've tried navigating the site a few times on my android phone but find that I can't go to the next page after I select to view the list of recent videos. I can change the page number from 1, but the number box seems to overlap the arrow button to change to the next page of the list. I've tried zooming in on the screen to tap the arrow button but had no luck. Appreciate your hard work :)
this seems to be a Safari problem. I got the site to work fine on Chrome. But its still very frustrating. So, right now the RT site is currently: not showing the scroller wheel on the homepage of any of the branch sites or the main one, latest updates are not loading, it will not load the recently added page beyond the initial click(if you try to switch to all or another tab its gets stuck loading), and most importantly Videos are not loading at all. Livestreams are still working and i can still comment though. I have included photos here: http://imgur.com/a/SbIQf Normally all these things are working great. Youtube and Twitch and Netflix are all working right now for me, so im sure it on RT's end. Any help would be appreciated. I already tried clearing my cache.
