The sad part is that the gaming industry has been pushing AI for so many years, Wing Commander 4 is a great example, especially if you listen to the background development of the AI for it, you realize quickly that we have been running toward this. Applying the brakes now is going to be difficult. I am struggling between the desire to have C3PO but avoid the Terminator... pretty sure you will have to put up with both in order to have it...

too many industries are doing layoffs and it whatever is causing this trend needs to be fixed sooner rather than later
