I know it's sponsored content and a big inspiration for the movie, but putting so much stock in Ed and Lorraine really killed this for me. They've been shown as massive hoaxers whose only "evidence" comes from their word and reputation, with a lot of documentation being completely absent or even outright disproving their claims.
