If I'm remembering correctly, I think they said they originally had a different idea and then they went back and reworked it until they got the idea they have now.

@KWAIG YESS, that's the one I was thinking of! I LOVE Black Mirror - Day 5 looks like it will have the same twisted and uncomfortably possible elements and I am completely on board.
