Man, I got some massive chills when you said Life is Strange, Blessing. That game, for me, has been one of the most important videogames in my life. A couple years ago, I accidentally blacked out at a party and ruined a bunch of friendships, so Kate's struggle was especially moving and cathartic because I felt exactly how she felt and I too wanted to hurt myself. But on top of that feat, it put me into the mind of Max, a girl who for some reason I related to a lot, and made me realize I was identifying in a way that never had with other characters in any videogame. I came to realize I was trans, and LiS opened my eyes to how good it felt for me to be in the pov of a girl. The writing for that game is damn incredible because it's so empathically written that in fact most of the time you have to succeed you *need* to be able to recognize what the most empathetic path forward is. And that kind of thing can *only* work if its nailed perfectly. Otherwise you get something like LA Noire where you'd fly off the handle for no reason when you just wanted to "Doubt" someone.
Truly a masterpiece of a game, Life is Strange. So glad to see it recognized. It is beautiful what that game accomplishes in its writing.
