The Importance of Simulation Games

I know someone who worked on the 360 that was told that was one of their big money makers alongside Halo. One aspect of Microsoft flight simulator that made it so important to Microsoft was that it was a cheap flight simulator program for businesses to use for training. Normal flight simulators are in the $1000+ range while the Commercial License for Flight simulator was around $300. A ton of companies that trained pilots would use it as an alternative to many other flight simulator programs.

I think one of the main reasons Microsoft is finally updating their Flight Sim series is because XPlane came out of nowhere to pick up the slack from FSX (Flight Sim X for those uninitiated) and it was good. Better graphics, a much better weather system, and it worked.
