@Shmittles I don't know that I agree with some of the games designated as reimaginings in this video, I do think there's a big enough difference from a remake to warrant a separate category. Personally I'd reserve "reimagining" for only the biggest "from the ground up" reconstructions of games. The inconveniently named Final Fantasy 7 Remake serves as a good example. Not only is there an extensive graphical upgrade, but there is a completely different combat system and the pacing of the story is different (and also broken across multiple parts). I think the the core difference is that a remake rebuilds the game with the intention to bolster and embellish the original while staying true to the methods and execution of the original, but a reimagining actually strays from the original execution at deeper levels to take a new path to better recreate the best parts of the original experience. Where a FF7 remake would have a highly polished, modern, turn-based jRPG combat interface to make the best version of the original gameplay, a FF7 reimagining could have a robust, real-time action combat system and attacks/characters that capture the iconic poses and actions from the original in a completely new way.
