Not being able to use a fax machine even if you have one because of the unavailability of analogue phone lines fascinates me. A piece of tech that we could have but straight up not access. It's like all of these wired headphones with phones that lack audio jacks. Stuff like this makes me think of how descendants in post apocalyptic societies can't connect the pieces of old tech to make it work. "We know they had music. We know they played music out of these phones. We have these headphones with these wires to connect them, but where do we connect it?"
