I'm so excited for Spec Ops. I think I recommended it in the first episode of Game Club. I stand by my tweet- Josh should fill in for Gus. I want to hear his thoughts on the story, and any insider stuff he might have heard from his brother.
I think The Stanley Parable would be a great game for the Game club. it's a short game(depending on how many paths you go through), but It would be interesting to see what ways they all took, and the narration is awesome. Also the achievements are awesome, but some impossible.
Love Bastion, it's an amazingly emotional game when you combine the story, art, music, and narration. It feels more rewarding at 6-10 hours then a lot of games much, much longer.
For me I had to pick Zulf up - I didn't have the heart to leave him - and then set sail instead of trying to rewind. Something about the story made me think that it would all just happen again if I did...
Gosh, Bastion was a great game. I started it in finals week thinking I could just play for an hour and couldn't put it down. I still listen to the soundtrack when I'm studying. Absolutely beautiful.
I do ok listening to it when studying or working... till one of the actual songs hit. Then I find myself sort of staring off into space.
I remember seeing either a trailer or some gameplay but I never learned the name of the game till now. So thanks to this I've bought the game from GoG and will begin playing it soon.
Bastion is one of my favourite games of all time. The story doesn't exactly branch, so much as you can choose your ending, depending on how you felt about the world you've explored. I saved Zulf and chose to evacuate. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned much is the colonialist themes throughout the game - Caelondia is a nation of colonists who subjugated the natives and exploited the natural resources of the land, to the point of destroying it.
Is Cave Story+ in the cylinder? It's a remastered version of the freeware classic, available on Steam. I highly recommend it for Game Club.
I'd love to know if 'To The Moon' is in the cylinder. I remember Ryan talking about it on an episode of the patch about a year ago and I went away and played it. It's about 5 hours long with a heartbreaking story that'll make you cry like a bitch! ... would highly recommend.
I'd love to see them do 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors. It's long, but I think they'd have some really interesting conversation about it.
I bought Bastion on my PS4 when it was announced as a Game Club game and I finally got all the trophies yesterday. I'm so grateful that the Patch introduced me to that game. So much fun and the music is great.
I'd like for the Game Club to play Double Dragons Neon. It's definitely worth a listen. (That'll make sense when y'all play it.) Also, best play it with a buddy. :D
Bastion is one of my favourite games.
The way I play it is to save Zulf and restore the world on my first playthrough. I then treat my new game plus as the restored world. On this playthrough I leave Zulf and choose to evacuate.
It's kind of like the world cannot be saved no matter my actions, and will just repeat if I continue to restore the world.
