I'm with Ryan. I picked the game up... 2, 3 years ago? It is a fantastic game, and I highly recommend everyone at least play a demo (old gen consoles and I believe Steam has a demo). But the game never captured me. I still go back to it, but I go back for the mechanics, not the game.
Also to what Ashley was saying about the programming, there's a movie called "Indie game" that follows the creation of both FEZ and Super Meat Boy. It's not entirely advanced programming, but it is sorta complex.
So just skipping over the Banner Saga then?
This is probably the first Game Club game that I've heard them talk about and immediately went "I am buying this now." Not when I have more time, not 'to check out when bored' - I want this now.
Gosh all those platformers, probably my least favorite game genre ever ...
Fez is great but trying to 100% it requires solving some super cryptic puzzles.
So after the previous Game Clubs, I noticed I like the ones with Ashley in them. I like that she actually talked about the game in this one more than others (Meg, Gus, Ryan) in the previous Game Clubs before this put together.
She talks about the game, and other information about it while still giving her opinion.
This is the kind of Game Club episode I've been missing.
this reminds me of monument valley
More of these please. Game Clubs where they talk more about specific events in the game and what they felt or thought it. Lately I feel like they've just been giving quick summaries and whether they liked the game or not, which kinda seemed halfhearted. Hopefully with Ashley back there'll be more discussions.
Also I'd like to suggest the game Grow Home, if it's not already in the cylinder.
HAHAHA NICE SUPERTRUPERS INTRO ASHLEY HAHAHAHA
