I'm glad these are finally being posted on the site. It was kind of annoying to watch the patch here then have to switch to Youtube for the gaming/book club
If I can make a suggestion here to help fill the Cylinder of Cylection then I would say Papo & Yo another indie game that won't take too long to complete.
I really want to get into The Patch Game Club, but I need to be able to see a video of the gameplay. By that I mean something like the livestream for Limbo that Burnie played or the Katawa Shoujo with Ashley. I don't have to watch it live, but I know I won't be buying a game just because it will be talked about on this show due to lack of money and time. I really just need to be able to see the game and form some kind of opinion before watching this show so I can feel invested in watching. I'd prefer that the video is made by someone who will be on that particular episode of Game Club; doesn't have to be the entire game. There's some kind of connection that adds value here, whatever it is.
And I'm saying all of that as someone who would like to hear about the Brothers game, but ended up not watching since I wasn't invested enough, if that makes sense.
I have a gem of an indie game called Banner Saga for the cylinder of selection. It a story driven that kind of feels like a dungeons and dragons tabletop.
I have two suggestions, and ryan must play them if they are picked. The first is 999 (found in the DS but can probably also be found on PC), and the second is Catherine (found on xbox 360, not sure about playstation, but it should also be able to be found on PC as well).
Gotta say, I'm actually really enjoying this segment. You guys should absolutely add Nine Persons Nine Hours Nine Doors and Dangan Ronpa to the Golden Cylinder. I'd also be interested to see you do Sunless Sea (although it's probably a bit too slow to do in a week) and Neighbourhood Necromancer.
Delighted you'll be doing Child of Light - great game, and the first one I've ever got full gamerscore for! Looking forward to seeing what you make of it! Loving this segment of the Patch!
So, they have already mentioned Mass Effect in the Game Club. I really want to see them do an episode on it. As a huge fan of the trilogy I know that a week is not enough to truly be indoctrinated (pun intended), but none the less I would love to hear their thoughts as a combination of previous experiences and the Game Club weekly play-through. Make it happen, RT! :D
