Hey everyone! Just wanted to say 'hey' and thanks for continuing to support Inside Gaming and the Weekend Roundup! Hope you are well and get a chance to play some games this weekend.
@DarthBurrit0 don't worry bro we aren't going anywhere if anything we want you guys huge again hope the switch gives you guys freedom to do what you need and want to. keep up the great work.
Is there a precedent for preventing monopolies in the game development/production industry? At what point does this "consolidation" become "monopolization"? How would you even evaluate and determine whether or not an acquisition builds a monopoly? Would it be by platform, genre, audience, market value, or something else? Hoping for an IG video that answers these and similar questions!
@snrsmarties obviously I'm not an expert. however, I think no monopoly issues will ever be addressed as long as multiple global powerhouses are in play. Sony (japan/us), Tencent (China), and Microsoft (US).... we can only hope the remaining independence of the companies under the umbrellas of these titans remains long enough for the customers to stay happy.
