Some things EA didn't say when putting Kaepernick back in the game: "sorry," "apologize," or "regret." It's a big deal, don't get me wrong, and I'm certainly glad they did, but if it took the current state of the world just to achieve that much, it's still not a good look.

If Xbox is using the same CPU then there shouldn't be too many optimization issues, right? The OG Xbox One is way weaker than the One X and there doesn't seem to be too many optimization issues there.

@ShadowSlayer129 The Series S is a weaker CPU than the Series X. It shouldn't be an issue for optimizing existing games for the new generation, but it will be hell for devs for new games. Anyone wanting to develop for the Xbox now has to optimize their game to run on what is essentially last gen hardware. IMO, this is why Halo Infinite didn't look better.

@Astarties Based off of every article I have read, they have the same 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU with different clock speeds, 3.8GHz on the X vs 3.6 on the S, but different GPUs. If it works anything like a PC, optimization should be down to tweaking graphic settings. @ShadowSlayer129 Hmm, thought I had read it was 3.0 GHz. Still, there is going to be some tweaking necessary. But the lower RAM and much weaker GPU will be a hurdle for devs trying to optimize their games as well. Things like draw distance, texture quality, and even just number of objects on the screen at any time will be affected by that.

@Astarties That sounds like a lot of aspects that are already scale-able by adjusting settings on the PC version of a game.

It's a shame the game isn't getting better reviews. I have enjoyed the hell out of it. I definitely agree with all of the issues presented with the online play. The campaign was just a blast and I'm trying to max level everyone currently.

To be fair, a 7.5 for FF15 is bullshit. It should have at least an 8, probably higher.

I've been saying this whole time that handicapping devs with this weaker hardware is going to make a bunch of devs decide to develop for PS5/PC exclusively for their more ambitious games. It's going to result in, yet again, Playstation having much more interesting and technically impressive games than Xbox. I also think we're going to see more exclusives than ever as a result. I think the evidence of this happening is the fact that Deathloop is not on Xbox despite Bethesda's tendency to publish games on everything. This might also be why Halo Infinite didn't look super amazing, because if they made it any more impressive looking, the Series S couldn't run it.

SquareEnix is well known for dumping on anyone being critical of it in Japan... from fan sites to Youtube channels to news outlets... Nintendo is fluffy and cuddly in comparison (and if they ever find this comment it'll disappear too! :O
