Somehow we didn't mention the two NPCs that are literally playing slapass all day. Stay tuned for the sequel to this review where that's all we talk about.
I gotta be honest, I completely disagree with this review.
The game is a buggy mess where NPCs randomly don't attack, drive into walls, or completely ignore you.
The sentries are a boring slog of terrible fighting (especially on the harder difficulties).
The open world is bland and boring. where you're forced into doing the same thing over and over in order to get upgrade points.
The Graphics are good until you get to the seizure inducing act of being shot at and random neon flashed in your face.
The path to upgrading is confusing and frustrating, and having to search for traders to buy ammo (on harder difficulties) just to keep playing is very lame.
The bosses are boring bullet sponges where (on harder difficulties) you find a way to hide and shoot until you are basically out of usable ammo and try to finish it off with a pistol.
The voice acting feels like it was done in an afternoon, with most NPCs repeating themselves over and over.
The shooting is the only stand out in this game, and as much as I love shooters, I can't ignore the rest of the glaring weaknesses in Rage 2.
Come into this game expecting to have fun shooting and blowing stuff up albeit on normal/standard difficulty. Rage is a game that is meant to make you feel over powered so if you are the type to play on a harder difficulty, the bosses will turn into bullet sponges instead of the short, fun, little encounters they should be. The world is bland it has a copy and paste diversions where you might as well just have a tally of bandit dens, pylon areas, road blocks, nest exterminations, and bounty hunts if you pick them up. Driving is a thing you don't really want to do after while, I suggest you go and get to point where you unlock a gyro-copter and just use that for the rest of your game. Also when it comes to racing the controls are kind of janky or there is just a learning curve when it comes it that I have yet to grasp. Overall I suggest just waiting for the game to go on sale and play on normal difficulty for the best time and if you have Epilepsy or get headaches/migraines from videogames just skip it entirely.
