I saw the same thing last time I was at the airport
sniper really how could a dog be a sniper
They could lift their leg and snipe them with piss from a rooftop.
Google "Sniper Pug" = Answer...sort of
I wish I was paid to detect food!
Hey, I think theres food in this kitchen
I found some nachos!
... nope, just a mop.
Man, I need to train more.
love that cheeky 4:20 :)
Like how one of the jobs is duck hunt lol.
My favorite was Snoop Dogg
Every single time there is a sniffer dog, no matter what it's trained to find, it will indicate that I have something. Every single time. I spent my whole life around dogs and still spend a lot of time around them so maybe the dog smells the other dogs on my trousers mr policeman. No? you want to search everything AGAIN even though you've seen me three or four times with the same dog now? Really? Well sure, why not. You won't find anything again this time!
Best thing is when they sniff your hand and indicate. Why yes mr policeman, I've just eaten the meatiest burger from BK and your dog is a Labrador. IT WILL INDICATE.
Sigh....
I used to have a "lick peanut buttah" dawg. But every time I fed him peanut buttah my grandmother would yell at me to stop feeding him the Devil's food... my grandmother was a little crazy.
Maybe if the peanut butter wasn't smeared over your genitals, your grandmother wouldn't mind so much!
Burnie should always voice a dog. Weird to say he has a very dog voice.
He could be a supporting character in the next Cats vs Dogs movi
No JayOrDan animating this one? Interesting.
He hasn't animated the last few. It's blasphemous! Almost as bad as Monty not animating RW- oh right.
What's the purpose of a dog that sniffs for food? Can you not bring your own food to the airport anymore? Know you can't get through the checkpoint with bottled water, but this is news to me. Granted it's been several years since I've flown.
You'd think they'd have these dogs at the movie theaters.
They said New Zealand, we have very strict laws about what food can be brought into the country (to protect our ecology, we have a lot of very endangered birds, and plants etc, and we mostly export crops. we need to protect our ecology. Anything that can potentially harm any of this has to be eliminated)
It's very normal to see dogs in airports sniffing for food here. Some food is allowed in (usually pre-packaged snacks. However no fresh fruit etc) but bringing undeclared food items into New Zealand is usually met with fines.
they dont want people bringing like plants that are banned from the country. like here in the US we had an issue with flower that overgrew and killed a bunch of indinginish flowers here. so...just that with food i guess
some places have it as a way to stop foreign species of plants from accidentally taking root and potentially competing with / harming the native species
To add to what everyone else has said, they'll also make sure you're not carrying food while travelling internationally in order to prevent the spread of plant/meat borne pathogens. If you're just wandering about an airport, a dog's not gonna bother you, but once you're at customs or baggage claim they'll be wandering around to make sure you haven't brought anything suspicious with you.
Even though in the states dogs are generally trained for more lethal things, if a member of the tsa thinks you've brought food with you, you can bet they're gonna take it, and the dogs will sometimes notice stuff like that--I once went through the Philadelphia (or maybe JFK?) airport with my mom and a sniffer beagle came to check out her bag, apparently attracted not by anything dangerous but by the smell of a bottle of juice concentrate that had broken open in transit.
"New Zealand." Yeah, nah that sounds about right.
Does the rest of the world not have food sniffer dogs?
For drugs and bombs, not food! lol
Australia has dogs to sniff food especially Tasmania.
Yeah, here in Tassie they make a bit of a fuss over it, we don't want any of that mainland food coming down here.
Just think, there's a country so peaceful and perfect that the only thing dogs ever find being smuggled is food.
